Popular Mechanics: Congress Approves $400 Million for an 'A-10 Warthog Lite'

Why not do a10 again? Have the plans etc
Jim,
My thoughts exactly. The A-10 works and is effective. Simply make new ones based on the same designs and plans and make new parts for the ones in service when needed.
Oh i forgot. This is an obvious solution.
I have a hard time to believe the OA-X "light attack" could replace the A-10 which is a Flying Tank".
Why not a A-10 with new technology?
With the A-10 wing replacement program, the A-10's "good to go" for another 20 years, and there are thousands mothballed in storage.
