U.S. Senator Rand Paul Faces A Prolonged Absence From The U.S. Senate

Wall Street Journal: Rand Paul Faces Prolonged Absence From the Senate

Kentucky Republican is recovering from injuries after alleged attack by neighbor.

WASHINGTON—Sen. Rand Paul faces an extended absence from the Senate as he recovers from serious injuries he suffered on Friday after police said he was attacked at his Kentucky home by his longtime neighbor.

The altercation between the two men was sparked by what an attorney for the alleged assailant described as a “trivial” dispute between the neighbors of 17 years.

A protracted convalescence away from Washington, D.C., for the Kentucky Republican could hinder the GOP legislative agenda, just as the party’s effort to advance an ambitious tax bill gets under way. The GOP-controlled Senate also has a raft of nominees awaiting confirmation votes and other legislation that leaders are looking to pass. The party controls 52 seats in the Senate, already a slim majority, and GOP leaders are trying to pass the tax measure without Democratic votes.

Previous Post: U.S. Senator Rand Paul's Injuries Far More Severe Than Initially Reported (November 5, 2017).

Update: No kidding .... Suspect in attack on Sen. Rand Paul might face more serious charges, police say (Washington Post).

WNU Editor: Sen. Rand Paul was present when James Hodgkinson decided to show up at a Republican baseball practice to assassinate a number of politicians .... and now he has to experience this. If I was Senator Rand Paul I would be wondering if it is open season on Republican politicians to be injured and/or murdered.

Paul Ryan's speech following the attack was interesting. "What you do to one of us you do to all of us." should be front and center on protest posters and pamphlets with appropriate credit given to Paul Ryan.

* 2017 Congressional baseball shooting
"James Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois, a left-wing activist"

* Rand Paul attacker
Leftwinger

Why?
It was neighborly dispute
Not an attack on doctors or whites or republicans

Rand Paul was quoting scripture.

What he meant is that activists like James Hodgkinson and other liberals not only want to murder a few Republican congressmen, but they want to murder all Republicans.

All Rand was saying was that many liberals have genocidal tendencies and what to create a new Holocaust.

It might be a similar line of reasoning to or a paraphrase of Matthew 25:45.

It is a very small step form locking all Republicans up to killing them all. We know you want to. People like you have said it.

"In news that should shock and anger Americans, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch told the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday that not only has she discussed internally the possibility of pursuing civil actions against so-called “climate change deniers,” but she has “referred it to the FBI to consider whether or not it meets the criteria for which we could take action.” "

Fred,

The Bernie activist's online posts and face to face comments say otherwise.

I am more than happy that you are not abandoning a sinking ship (liberalism).

Funny Fred, but you cannot name one thing neighborhood related like Boucher did not like Rand's tree overhanging his yard, the fence was sited wrong, noise complaints or anything.

We have a rich doctor with no honey. Something is up with that. From what I hear he was an Occupy (OWS) supporter and a Bernie supporter.

This was political.

If your "why" Fred is directed at me then because the stuff Congress does often attacks the well being of individuals and groups of individuals around the country. Throwing his words back at him is only fair play.

When I think of cavorting, I often picture people like Fred, Bob, and Dakota Bracciale in a big political tent.

Sorry Fred, bit if & when we drive the dysfunctional libs from power, we are starting in on the Republican party and voting a 1/3rd or maybe more out.

There is not much good to say about the DNC, liberals, or the Left.
