Salvador Nasralla conceded shortly after Honduras' key ally Washington endorsed President Juan Orlando Hernandez's re-election, following a month of sometimes deadly street clashes.

"US pressure" is regularly cited by sore losers and weaklings who lack the courage of their convictions to fight for what they believe in. Such peoole need to invent fairy tales of which the myth of "American pressure" is one of them.

America has no interst in Honduras worthy of such efforts. Even if it did America lacks any leverage to be able "pressure" Honduran officials to do anything. Furthermore if America did try and "pressure" a Honduran candidate or official the backlash against America and Americans would be devastating.

Even the fairy tale put forth by the sore loser will likely cause America problems as some eat up such nonsense. Our government needs to get out in front on this with the proper messaging to refute this.

Unfortunately American efforts at messaging are often slow and clumsy. As such, false narratives such as this one put forth by the Honduran candidate often become accepted as fact before they can be properly countered.
