It Appears That All Roads Behind The Trump-Russian Collusion And Clinton Investigations Lead To FBI Counterintelligence Expert Peter Strzok

CNN: FBI agent dismissed from Mueller probe changed Comey's description of Clinton to 'extremely careless'

Washington (CNN)A former top counterintelligence expert at the FBI, now at the center of a political uproar for exchanging private messages that appeared to mock President Donald Trump, changed a key phrase in former FBI Director James Comey's description of how former secretary of state Hillary Clinton handled classified information, according to US officials familiar with the matter.

Electronic records show Peter Strzok, who led the investigation of Hillary Clinton's private email server as the No. 2 official in the counterintelligence division, changed Comey's earlier draft language describing Clinton's actions as "grossly negligent" to "extremely careless," the sources said.

The drafting process was a team effort, CNN is told, with a handful of people reviewing the language as edits were made, according to another US official familiar with the matter.

WNU Editor: Now I understand why Robert Mueller wanted FBI agent and counterintelligence expert Peter Strzok gone .... it seems that all roads lead to him. And here I am a few days ago thinking that Peter Strzok got demoted over a few text messages to a former girlfriend when he revealed his anti-Trump sentiments, as well as his pro-Hillary feelings .... FBI Agent Responsible For The Clinton Email Investigation Now Facing A Review By The FBI's Inspector General (December 3, 2017).

To begin .... Peter Strzok's resume for the past 16 months is truly remarkable. He was the lead FBI agent in charge of the Hillary Clinton email investigation, and he was one of a small group who interviewed Hillary Clinton on her use of this server (no recording or transcript of that questioning was made). He was also the agent who conducted the interviews with two Hillary Clinton aides (Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin) who were later accused of giving false statements about what they knew of the former secretary of state’s private email server. Interestingly .... neither of these aides faced any legal consequences for their misleading statements. He was also (according to the above CNN report) the FBI agent who changed Comey's description of Clinton's use of a private server from "grossly negligent" to "extremely careless. This editing is apparently an important point .... classified material that’s been mishandled and labeled for “gross negligence” calls for criminal consequences. But it does not stop there .... Strzok was the FBI agent who officially signed off on the bureau's decision to launch its Russia investigation in July 2016!!! He was also the FBI contact person to receive the Russian Dossier and interview the author Christopher Steele!!! It should be noted that to this day this dossier (paid for by the Clinton team) has still not been verified by the FBI .... FBI has not verified Trump dossier (Byron York, Washington Examiner). And if this was not enough .... it was FBI Agent Peter Strzok and another agent who interviewed National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn on January 24th, 2017. It was this interview that became the basis for Robert Mueller charging Michael Flynn for lying to an FBI Agent.

The fallout from all of these revelations has become predictable. To conservative websites, commentators, pundits, politicians, etc. .... Peter Strzok is just a validation to them that the entire Mueller investigation is politically motivated. Robert Mueller .... to his credit .... did remove Peter Strzok when questions on his political biases were being raised in August. But what has not helped Robert Mueller is that he, the FBI, and I can only assume lead officials in the Justice Department .... made the decision to keep this a secret. Why they decided to do this is something that I do not know, but they have lost a lot of credibility with these decisions. Optics is everything in a case like this, and right now the optics do not look good for them.

As for Peter Strzok .... he has a lot of explaining to do, and it is not going to be easy for him. For some reason .... a part of me wonders if he sees himself as a more sophisticated Mark Felt of Watergate fame. But unlike Mark Felt, Peter Strzok has been exposed.

It’s amazing the extent to which the left and right are living in different realities. With the practice of good journalism this should not be the case. I hope the organizations that are proven most accurate survive and the others are eliminated. But I fear that’s not how it will work.
