Newsweek: Pakistan Warns Trump Against Unilateral Moves to Defeat Taliban, Al-Qaeda in Country
Pakistan has warned the United States and President Donald Trump against taking unilateral military action in the country against extremist groups, after warnings from top officials in the president's administration and the American leader himself.
Vice President Mike Pence said in a speech during a trip to Afghanistan earlier this month that Trump had issued a warning to Pakistan and cautioned that there was much for the country to lose if it aided extremist groups in any way.
"As the president said, so I say now: Pakistan has much to gain from partnering with the U.S., and Pakistan has much to lose by continuing to harbor criminals and terrorists," Pence said.

Everyone can have a dream.
does that mean we were wrong to take out OBLadin?
Yes, Fred. Shame on us for getting revenge on a guy that killed thousands in a cowardly attack on civilians
Our so-called ally has harbored Taliban, who cross over from Afghanistan to seek saftey...we have a bad bad ally in Pakistan, but they have nukes, and so we are careful with and about them. And so then the message to North Korea? get nukes and feel more secure
Ok,suppose we play nice and play by Pakistani elite rules. We do not kill evil Taliblam and Al Qaeda, when they are inside Pakistan.
We and the Afghani people could still win, but it would be hard. We would basically have to laager every city, town, and village.
They'll plant mines and IEDs. So we will have to hunt them as they infiltrate into Afghanistan from their master's house in Islamabad.
But it is very hard if we do not attack their safe bases in Pakistan. So far the Pakistanis have only attacked Taliblam safe bases twice for very short periods of time.
If we decamp and let China step in there will be some salutatorius effects. More Muslim ire will be directed at China. The Chinese will reply in kind and there will be refugee flows into Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and elsewhere. Not sure how all that will shake out.
We could wait to see if we can route supplies through Iran and tell the Pakistani leadership to eff themselves.
Why is Pakistan getting aid at all? We can't really afford it and they're not much belp. By the way I wonder how secure North Korea would feel is South Korea had indigenous nuclear weapons? It seems clear the Norks would no longer be able to operate with impunity as they currently can and do.
Pakistan started getting aid to counter India, which at the time, was non-aligned and countered US moves in the region.
US Aid continued, so that Pakistan would support the Mujahadeen against the Afghan Government, then the Soviets.
After the Soviet's withdrew from Afghanistan, US Aid continued for a while, until the Pakistani ISI proved that their proxies in Afghanistan could not take over the country, then US Aid was withdrawn, and China moved into the void.
US Aid resumed somewhat when the ISI's new proxies, the Taliban appeared to be able to win, as a counter to China.
Post 9/11 US Aid flooded Pakistan, to get them to withdraw overt support for the Taliban and al Quida, and to allow US Military supplies to transit into Afghanistan, via Pakistan.
Now that Russia and it's 'stan satellite nations have withdrawn cooperation for US/NATO supplies to transit into Afghanistan across their land and airspace, Pakistan remains the only air and ground route into Afghanistan.

Good decision Pakistan.
Pakistan better know how to cope with that.
So do you think Pakistan is just playing us to increase our aid to them so we can kill the Taliban and other militant groups?
"Pakistan better know how to cope with that. "
"The Pakistan Taliban, a violent group also known as the TTP, claim a long list of violent and deadly assaults on civilians and the military in Pakistan's mostly ungoverned area along its Afghan border."

Before there was just the Taliban, who organized, aided and abetted by the ISI left Pakistan and conquered Afghanistan.
After 2001 they came back to hide out in FATA. After 2001 they were still aided by the ISIS and Pakistani military.
Since then they have metastasized. Now there is a Pakistani Taliban and there is violence and the government cannot control it.
*** Sometimes fishermen reel their lures in real slow like.
Pakistan is always telling the US not to target Talib in Pakistan. This gives Pakistan "plausible deniability" when a US drone wipes out a village in the NWFP or ATA. When the Tribals blame Pakistan, Pakistan points the finger at the US.
I like your wording Jay, but you are behind the times.
Drones are not wiping out villages. Fleets of drones are going Coventry on cites of 10,000 people or more.
At least if you are going propagandize, then go BIG, go Goebbels, when you lie.

Yeah, Jay I looked at it and I saw that you were once again 3 sheets to the wind _____.
I use to follow the Long War Journal drone count for a few years.
Still, I looked at what you linked and it absolutely disproves your point.
LMAO
The numbers were there dude and they did not prove your point. Neither did the attached news articles.
Take for instance Rabia. His wife died with him. It is not like his Spanish born wife (she was one of the precious, innocent civilians killed) did not know he was evil terrorist scum.
I take it you cried, when Bonnie got cut down along with Clyde.
We're laughing at you Jay.
