An aircraft hangar on Ford Island burns after the attack. Of the 404 American aircraft at the Hawaii base, 188 were destroyed and 159 damaged, almost all of which were on the ground
WNU Editor: The above picture is from this photo-gallery .... On the 76th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, shocking colorized photographs show the horror of the missile assault that claimed more than 2,400 lives and pulled the US into the Second World War (Daily Mail).

Missile assault? WTF? Some idiot needs to be fired from the Daily Mail.
Daily Mail (DM) is the pits.
You would think journalism majors would have a grasp of historical facts and of English grammar. Part of what the DM does is yanking the chain of readers for clicks, but still part of it is the aforementioned lack of skill and knowledge.
Still the DM is useful for the pictures and stories that the U.S. media will not publish and it was very much the unofficial paper of record for Americans 5 to 8 years ago. The DM would not have such a great American readership except for the fact that media like The New York Slime (NYT or NYS?) are former newspapers.
