Would never happen, with secrecy and encryption as it is, the latest greatest frigate would be outdated by at least 20 years. Fact is you have a seperation between civilian and military advancements. You could literally take a weapon of today and build a frigate to utilize to its full potential, such as a nuclear submarine. Yet the US Navy want the tried and true, just a little better and companies are only to obliged to meet bare minimum requirements, even if they could make it fly.

WNU Editor,

The LCS was supposed to replace the Perry Class.

Now the Navy's looking to unmothball some of the Perry Class, due to the LCS's program failures.
