KAMPALA (Reuters) - The Ugandan army on Friday attacked camps in eastern Congo housing Ugandan Islamist rebels blamed for a raid this month that killed 14 United Nations peacekeepers, an army spokesman said.
The attack, carried out with air strikes and long range weapons from inside Uganda, is the first in a joint military operation by Congo and Ugandan armies against the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
The attack followed intelligence sharing with Democratic Republic of the Congo that indicated ADF militants were planning “hostile activities” against Uganda, army (UPDF) spokesman Richard Karemire told Reuters.
“In a pre-emptive move this afternoon, UPDF conducted attacks. They are of a limited nature on camps in DRC,” he said.

Well Uganda is doing more than Obama did in Africa. Obama could not even get Kony. To be fair, he said he would not and that African had to do the heavy lifting. Still he could not point them in the right direction so that Kony could be killed or captured and brought to Kony to the International Court of Justice. Kony was such a big fad of the left. The sleeves of the Left were dripping torrents with how much they cared. Obama did very little in Nigeria as well although he did cut off military aid to Nigeria while giving it to the Muslim Brotherhood in in Egypt, which tells you everything you need to know about the pusillanimous politician Obama.
A little intel help goes a long way. For instance the Russian provided a little satellite intel to the Vietnamese, who avoided being suckered by the Chinese into a cauldron battle at Lạng Sơn.
Somehow Obama could not or would not provide enough intel to the Ugandans or Central Africa Republic. For the Atlanta Olympics bomber the Feds search with infrared equipped aircraft looking for the bomber. What have they done to search for Kony? As far as we know zip, zero, nada. All we would have to do is find him, and maybe provide a little mobility and the Africans could do the rest.
There were press reports several months ago that as ISIS fell jihad would ramp up inj this area and sadly it is.
