Bloomberg: Trump Obstruction of Justice Case Developing, Senator Says
* Top Democrat on Senate Judiciary Committee cites indictments
* Weekend presidential tweets follow Friday’s Flynn guilty plea
A Senate investigation into connections between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election suggests a potential case of obstruction of justice is developing against the president, Senator Dianne Feinstein said.
“What we’re beginning to see is the putting together of a case of obstruction of justice,” Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” about the committee’s probe.
“We see this in the indictments, the four indictments, and pleas that have just taken place, and some of the comments that are being made,” said Feinstein, who’s also a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee. “I see it in the hyper-frenetic attitude of the White House: the comments every day, the continual tweets.”

Update #2: Trump tweets about Russia probe spark warnings from lawmakers (Reuters).
WNU Editor: I am skeptical that an "obstruction of justice' charge can be made with what is known so far. Bottom line .... a hell of a lot more evidence will be needed to make such a case, and I have seen none that we can add since this investigation started. And while some are pointing out this Trump tweet yesterday as evidence of obstruction .... Did Trump Just Admit to Obstructing Justice on Twitter? (Slate). As one who tweets all the time, I see this more as a badly worded Tweet .... not an admission of obstruction. But this discussion is now all moot .... the attorney has become the fall-guy .... Report: Trump attorney gives info on president's tweet about Flynn lying to FBI (CBS). On a side note and one that will have consequences, U.S. House Republicans now drafting a contempt of Congress resolution against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray for not providing documents that were requested months ago .... House Republicans Prepare Contempt Action Against FBI, DOJ (Bloomberg). More here .... Republicans Prepare For War With FBI, DOJ: To File Contempt Action Over Anti-Trump Bias (Zero Hedge). Not surprising, both the FBI and House Democrats have been silent on this issue. My prediction .... the FBI and the DoJ do not want to go down this road, these documents are going to be forwarded before we now it.

Her hope would have been for Mueller to come up with the goods and give her ammo and cover for doing something radical, like impeaching the president. Her persona is all based on the notion that she is measured and circumspect and an “elder statesman.".
But since she can also see Mueller can’t come up with the goods, it’s time for Plan B. That’s also why she says she’s not waiting for Mueller’s report. If his report is battered in the press for being a nothing burger it would be hard to drum up charges in the Senate—swimming against the tide and all that.
Plus, it looks like the Democrats 2018 theme is to make the election a referendum on impeachment. Feinstein at the end of the day knows how to be a good soldier too. And, she also knows that some of her allies in this cause will be gone in January 2019.
Just a lot of noise.
Di-Fi is a blowhard.
- Di-Fi can be replaced by a 'competent' liberal, who would vote exactly like her.
- Di-Fi can retire safely knowing that her seat is in a safe blue seat.
- At 79 million, gazillion dollars, Di-Fi is rich enough to retire.
Why doesn't she retire?
She wants to be deemed important.
