Daily Mail: Jerusalem protests claim their first life as Palestinian is shot dead by Israeli soldiers during clashes over Trump's plan to move US embassy

* US President Donald Trump sparked fury by officially recognising Jerusalem as Israel's capital on Wednesday
* The Islamist group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, has called for a new 'intifada' uprising against Israel
* Violent clashes have taken place in West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza and one Palestinians has been shot dead
* Army confirmed it had shot two along the border, accusing them of being 'main instigators' of 'violent riots'

Israeli soldiers have shot a Palestinian dead while hundreds more are injured after violent clashes erupted over Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Protesters launched stones at Israeli troops, who responded with tear gas and rubber bullets while huge crowds rallied outside Jerusalem's Al Aqsa Mosque, a flashpoint site in the holy city.

This afternoon, Palestinian officials announced two had been shot dead by Israeli soldiers in Gaza - but later retracted their statement, naming only one victim,Mahmoud al-Masri, 30.

While one can argue about the wisdom of the Trump announcement that the US recognizes that Jerusalem is the capital if Israel, what Hamas says, urges, etc. is really total bullshit. Hamas is still on record as calling for the destruction of Israel, so where the capital is or is not matters not at all to that misguided group, a terrorist group whose leader makes sure he is well out of Gaza to preserve his own life even as he urges others to die for that which he calls for
