Jerusalem Post: Kerry to Abbas confidante: 'Stay strong and do not give in to Trump'
The former US Secretary of State also surprised his interlocutor by saying he was seriously considering running for president in 2020.
While the White House has confirmed that since the Jerusalem Declaration there has been a complete disconnect between the Palestinian Authority and the Trump administration, it turns out that the previous administration has maintained contact with PA officials.
Maariv reported that former US secretary of state John Kerry met in London with a close associate of PA President Mahmoud Abbas, Hussein Agha, for a long and open conversation about a variety of topics. Agha apparently reported details of the conversation to senior PA officials in Ramallah. A senior PA official confirmed to Maariv that the meeting took place.

Anybody who thinks that there ever will be a man made "peace" with the so called "Palestinians" is clearly clueless about history. There is no race of people "Palestinian". They are just Arabs. They don't want peace. They are there solely to be a thorn in the side of Israel and their Muslim backers won't be satisfied until Israel is gone altogether.
Lori,
That's interesting, the Logan Act. As I recall, this involves negotiating with a foreign government apart from the US government essentially undermining the constitutional government. Furthermore, as I recall, POTUS and his team were/are accussed of doing this with regards to Russia prior to the election.
First of all such an allegation would need to be proven. If proven and I understand the law correctly which I may not, this would definitely be a violation of the law. Not only would it violate the law but support for "Palestine" over Israel runs contrary to American intersts. The "Palestinians" are a bitter enemy of America. On the other hand, Israel is among our most trustworthy and stalwart allies in spite of getting very little in return from us.
The myth of a powerful Israel lobby directing US policy or having significant influence js VERY destructive and such falsehoods need to be exposed for the shams they are. I'm getting off topic.
If the allegations are true, by aiding the "Palestinians" in this manner not onky has he violated the law but his principles are bad. Generally such people should be held in contempt.
On the other hand, assuming team Trump did collude with the Russians in a manner contrary to the positions of the constitutional government this would obviously be a violation of the law and prosecutions and jail time would be expected as perhaps they should be IF the allegations are proven of which no concrete evidence seems to have been found in spite of the most exhaustive and one-sided investigation in US history.
While negotiations with the Russians outside of official government business would be illegal, the previous government was dragging us into a new Cold that we don't need, can't afford, and lack the resources to prosecute effectively. In other words they were placing all of us and our loved ones in danger FOR NO GOOD REASON!!
In this situation it would be understandable if true American patriots were to approach the Russians and try to cool tensions. Furthermore jt would be an encouraging sign that the Russians might actually be willing to hold constructive dialogue. Such actions, while a violation of law, are at least based upon sound principles. Good and honorable men and women are often fsced with such dilemmas. Doing the right thing in the face of stiff opposition and risks to oneself requires character of the likes few have. Those who do have such character should be honored.
While candidate Trump made some encouraging statements regarding Russia, sadly POTUS Trump has, at present, lost his way as he's been even tougher on Russia than his predecessor was. As such, this is strong evidence against such collusion on the part of POTUS or his key team members with regards to Russia.
