Russia's S-400 Air Defence Missile System Is One Very Dangerous Weapons Platform

National Interest: Russia's S-400 Is Way More Dangerous Than You Think

One use of the S-400 long-range missile is against stand-off systems including flying command posts and aircraft such as the E-3 Sentry AWACS. These aircraft, which are used by the US and its NATO allies with a squadron stationed in Japan at Kadena AFB and in the UAE at al-Dhafra, are vulnerable to S-400 interceptors and lose their stand-off range protection. We may be reaching the end of the AWACS capability, which were originally designed in the 1960s.

Saudi Arabia’s agreement to purchase the S-400 anti-aircraft Triumf anti-missile system from Russia is a major blow to the United States and its European allies.

The deal follows Turkey’s $2.5 billion agreement to buy the S-400, and ongoing negotiations with Egypt for the S-400. Egypt already has the S-300VM system (also known as the Antey 2500) which can engage short- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, precision guided weapons, strategic and tactical aircraft, as well as early warning and electronic warfare aircraft. (Originally the S-400 was called the S-300 PMU-3.)

Not one missile has been fired under real combat conditions in a jamming environment, or aircraft taking active counter measures.
The mig39 was also a wonder weapon and wowed and unsettled the western brass with its airshow bravado and cobra manoeuvre.
From Iraq to Serbia to Ukraine and numerous encounters in between its failed miserably ) Serb pilots were actually pretty good and high ranked)

Mig29,typo

The Serbian MiGs were outnumbered 1 000+ to 14. Even if they had F-22s the result would have been the same

Fazman is a pro American dipshit who falsifies stories to help him sleep at nite. Your recent calling out is a prime example of something he's been doing for quite some times

AWACS are currently being replaced by F-35’s. Disaggregated command and control is the solution to the silver bullet threat presented by the SA-400.

Russia will not be beat militarily. We would not want that anyhow (unless they leave us no option). It's about economic output and culture. That's where the west wins. But that's age the west is being manipulated by China. Not giving us equal market access and theft of our inventions over the last 3 decades cost us trillions!! And no consequences. Forget Russia. We have no beef with them. China is the big issue. North Korea and China.

Malds anyone?!

If it cannot distinguish between malds and real aircraft and missiles it'd be funny

To identify a target you must turn on active radar which gives away your position ,lol!

Antitroll is a fascist anti western anarchy anti imf fan boy with limited understanding of these military encounters because of age?.
The Serbian migs were intercepted by 2 F15, both who's initial missiles failed after launch due to malfunction.
Both eagles, were credited with the kill which was changed to 1 eagle, 5 out of 16 lost but hey it must be the export model bogey man.
Antitrol do they have Archie comics or Dr Zeus in your library, read up and leave these discussions to grown ups or get your info about military engagements from reruns of hogans heros or Behind enemy lines 1 to 3(Columbia is a person a favourite)
