Prince Mohammed bin Salman, right, warned against trying to appease Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
Seyed Hossein Mousavian, Business Insider/LobeLog: Striking differences between the leadership styles of Saudi Arabia's crown prince and Iran's Ayatollah could decide the future of peace in the Middle East

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman (MBS) is steadily consolidating power in Riyadh and positioning himself to become the most powerful ruler in Saudi history.
His rise has been accompanied with a ratcheting up of hostilities against Iran and even war rhetoric. As Saudi-Iran tensions increase, the lived experiences and leadership styles of the 78-year-old Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and 32-year-old MBS will decide the future of peace and stability in the region.
Before Iran’s 1979 Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei was a political activist who opposed the dictatorship of the Shah and endured 15 years of prison, torture, and exile. He rose through the revolutionary ranks after the revolution and in 1981, was elected president.

WNU Editor: Two complete opposites. But Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is in his late 70s and he has a history of cancer. The future always belong to the young .... even though they may not deserve it.

I find this analysis very partisan. No wonder, that's done by an ex-Iran diplomat.
MBS will not live very long or, if he is smart, he will accept the exile package if/when it is offered to him. As for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, he is aging. As such, the "future" will belong to his hand picked successor.
While MBS could win, it is not likely. Making the proper choices will have profound influences on America and Americans. Will the world's major powers allow America to survive? Will Americans have a secure and prosperous future? All of this hangs in the balance.
We may not like the Iranian leadership. They clearly don't like us and want us dead. Unfortunately like it or not we are stuck with them. They are not stuck with us.
The Saudis aren't any better. They may be worse. At least the Iranians are up front about it. The Saudis smile really big, take our money, and plot our destruction. Every time I think on Saudi Arabia I think "15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis."
Making wise choices here will have profound influences on the future of Americans and America. Unfortunately thus far I am unimpressed and underwhelmed by our leadership on all levels.

I do not expect clerics to be poor. I expect some to be rich.
Still Ayatollah Khamanei looks indistinguishable from the Saudi Crown Prince on a balance sheet.
