Will The Secret FISA Memo That Allegedly Reveals Wrongdoing By Senior U.S. Government Officials Be Made Public?

Politico: House Republicans clash over secret memo

Republicans say the public needs to see a memo that allegedly shows shocking wrongdoing by senior U.S. law enforcement officials, but one senior Democrat calls it a misleading effort to protect the president.

House Republicans are sharply divided over how to handle a classified memo that President Donald Trump’s allies say contains explosive details of misconduct by senior FBI and Justice Department officials.

The memo, compiled by House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes and fellow Republicans on the panel, claims that senior federal officials abused a secret surveillance program, commonly known as FISA, to target the Trump campaign. It also alleges other federal law enforcement wrongdoing that some Republicans insist should lead to the firings of senior officials.

WNU Editor: Some Republicans are expressing concerns that making public this FISA memo may expose methods and sources that were used to produce this memo. The Democrats are calling this document “a misleading set of talking points attacking the FBI” and drawn from “highly classified” documents. I am not buying anyone of theseexcuses. The political damage that has been done in the past year over spying, Russia-gate, Mueller investigation, etc., .... if this is not enough of a reason to make this type of information public .... then we might as well resign ourselves to live in a society where nothing of consequence can then be made to the public.

Update: According to the following Reuters report, their sources (primarily retired intelligence officials who now work for think-tanks) are saying that the driving force behind this push to make public this FISA memo are Russian Twitter trolls .... In fight over Russia memo, Republicans have unusual ally (Reuters). More here .... Russia-linked Twitter accounts are working overtime to help Devin Nunes and WikiLeaks (Business Insider).

Democrats are literally tearing this country apart with their lies, smears, & innuendo.

Jerry Chun Shing Lee already has given so many people away.

Democrat Senate candidate and liberal darling Bradley/Chelsea Manning did his/her part.

The president can declassify it and thus prosecute the DNC in the court of public opinion.

Republicans talking about the memo and not going on record strenuously voting to release it, will get themselves branded as RINOs, McConnels, Lindsay Grahams, John McCains and worse.

Don't waive the paper in front of our faces, say it is political dynamite and then not go the final mile. People might as well not vote and let this nation slide the rest of the way into Banana Republic one party rule like Mexico was for the longest time under the PRI or Venezuela is now. Banana Republic being not far removed from sh**hole status.

Maybe Rep.Gaetz should release it and just blame a severe cold as the reason??
