Al Jazeera: UAE-backed separatists launch 'coup' in southern Yemen
Yemen's prime minister has accused southern separatist forces backed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of staging a "coup" after they seized several government offices during deadly clashes in the port city of Aden.
"In Aden, legitimacy is being overturned," Prime Minister Ahmed bin Dagher said in a statement on Sunday.
"What is happening is very dangerous and affects the security, stability and unity of Yemen... This wrongdoing is no different than the crimes committed by the Houthis in Sanaa," he added.

The Hadi/Saudi/UAE "deal" was that the UAE would get control of the Port and City of Aden, all of Yemen's imports and exports, including aid, would get routed through Aden, and the UAE's DP Ports Corporation would cream off 20%.
The UAE Forces were driven out of the City of Aden, by a mix of Hadi allied Tribals and Saudi allied al Quida groups who have divided the city into factional enclaves and extract taxes and tolls.
The UAE apparently asked/demanded that the Saudi's stop backing the al Quida factions in Aden, but as the Saudi's are reliant on al Quida and al Quida allied tribals as infantry in Yemen, the Saudi's refused.
The Saudi's apparently also supported the Hadi factions as well.
The Saudi's then engaged in further backstabbing of their UAE partner, by trying to engage in "kingmaking" with Saleh. Some accounts say that the UAE "gave up" Saleh's location to the Houthi's when he was on the run.
So this little "coup" is the UAE's attempt to use some local Yemeni forces, to take back control of the City of Aden from Hadi and Saudi backed factions.
