The Hill: Mulvaney says Trump's military parade could cost as much as $30 million
President Trump’s proposed military parade could cost as much as $30 million, budget director Mick Mulvaney said Wednesday.
Mulvaney told the House Budget Committee that the parade's cost would vary depending on length, but could be anywhere from $10 million to $30 million.
Pentagon officials reportedly said in an early meeting about the parade that they did not know how they would pay for it. The administration is reportedly targeting Veterans Day for the parade.
Mulvaney told the committee after questioning from Democratic Rep. Barbara Lee (Calif.) that the cost would depend on the length of the parade and the cost of the equipment.

WNU Editor: The military personnel are already being paid. DC law enforcement is already being paid. Equipment is already there. Some fuel will need to be used .... but I doubt that we are going to see a hundred planes and hundred tanks down Pennsylvania Blvd (which actually will be cool if you ignore that cost). So .... closing down some of Washington DC .... and maybe some overtime for law-enforcement .... and some fuel .... will cost up to $30 million?!?!?!

Whats up with peoples foreheads in this video?
The 1991 LA Parade cost $5 million, and that was just troops, trucks and Humvee's.
So, in 2017 dollars a similar parade would cost $9.1 million, plus the additional costs of being held on a statutory holiday with double time and triple time.
Hans,
It might be an Ash Wednesday marking.
Correct, Ash Wednesday
Jay, I saw a military parade .... and a really good one .... in Redwood City (The Bay Area) in 2010 on July 4. It cost about a million bucks.
As for L.A.'s 1991 parade .... that was huge, and it actually cost $12 million

Using the L.A. article as a reference point, I can see where they get the $30 million amount. But that still does not explain what that money is being spent on.
I know that the military parades through Red Square .... and these are massive parades .... cost between $3 and $4 million. But that's Russia. And most of that money is spent on repairing the roads after the parade.
Trump want's tanks, missiles and jets.
The Military loves a parade, days spent on spit and polish, practice, getting vehicles out of the park, maintaining them, polishing them, getting issued arms, then safety, cleaning and all the paperwork.
Loading it all up and shipping it hundreds of miles, offloading it, more maintenence, cleaning and polishing it.
Then, forming up and standing for hours, inspections, more standing, then finally marching, then crappy food, not enough water, sleeping in gyms on cots overnight,
Then packing it all up, shipping it home, cleaning, maintenence, inspections, packing it away, and then finishing all the paperwork.
The Military loves a Parade.
Why not round up and parade our homeless vets on flatbed trailers...we will have thousands of them to us thank them for their service

Wow Jay... That's low...
Hans,
Jay never served. He is not able to comprehend the authentic, hard earned feeling of pride at the expense of temporary personal discomfort for a greater cause.
