CNN: Special counsel issues indictment against 13 Russian nationals over 2016 election interference
Special counsel Robert Mueller has indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for allegedly meddling in the 2016 presidential election, charging them with conspiracy to defraud the United States, the Department of Justice has announced.
In addition, three defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, and five defendants with aggravated identity theft.
Mueller has been investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election as well as any connections between Russia and Trump campaign associates.

WNU Editor: So if you are a Russian and you supported Donald Trump while actively "disparaging" Hillary Clinton .... it is against the law. This is what Robert Mueller has?!?!?!? Where did this come from? This sounds more like a ham sandwich. I am sure there is more to this story .... at least I hope so. Bank and wire fraud are the charges. As well as identify theft?!?!?! And break this story while the entire media complex is 100% focused on the Florida school massacre. Bottom line .... the Robert Mueller Counsel has nothing ... and they know it.
Update: Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein has just admitted that no Americans are involved in these indictments, no Americans benefited, no Americans helped, and that these Russian actions could not have changed the outcome of the Presidential election. Bottom line .... no collusion. So much for the narrative of the past year that there was collusion between the Trump campaign team and the Russians.
Update #2: Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein said that these Russians set up their operation in 2014 (a year before Trump made his announcement), and they used fake identities on Facebook and other social media sites to influence the campaign. Someone should tell Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein that fake identities on Facebook and other social media sites is nothing new.
Update #3: The indictment is here .... Mueller Indicts 13 Russians Accused of Election Meddling (NBC New York).

Good point WNU editor..... hopefully the world will be able to move on from this nonsense.
Take it easy WNU, you've been hysterical over this for months.
Just keep repeating Trump is the eternal victim of some deep-state fantasy to the rubes, I mean gullible dips$%ts, I mean choir.
It is OK Anon.
I do not know who you are but I know what you are.
You wake up everyday hoping that today is the day that they will have Trump.
That today is the day.
That regardless of what is discovered, announced, or presented .... it makes no difference to you .... he is guilty, his election is illegitimate, and he deserves to be kicked out of the Oval Office.
And if it is not today .... you are pissed .... but tomorrow is tomorrow.
Well .... it is not today. And I feel how let down that you must feel.
My hat off for you WNU.
This investigation is becoming funny. I am pretty sure that Mueller is going to realize that, but has to show something. Unfortunately everything is about fraud, not Trump election.
Dear All--
Why not wait till indictments lead to possible trials in order to see what is and is not taking place? To dismiss such things, repeatedly, especially in light of how they are piling up, seems a bit irrational, a defense before evidence presented, indicating that dismissal of charges is more important than awaiting full disclosure, evidence, lawyers to deal in court with this
Anon,
I was saying the same thing a few months ago. Wait for the investigation to run its course.
That time is now passed.
I said last year the the Robert Mueller investigation has until April/May of this year to prove his case on Russian collusion. But if this is what they have .... where they even admitted today that no Americans are involved.
This is not an irrational point of view .... this is stating the obvious and using the Deputy Attorney General's own words to make my case.
The House, Senate, Special Prosecutors and Grand Juries spent 42 years and over $380 million dollars investigating the Clintons, for any kind of illegality,
They found one blowjob between 2 consenting Adults.
The House and Senate spent 3.2 years and $28 million investigating the Obama Administration for any kind of illegality,
and found bupkis.
Meuller's been on the case 9 months, has spent $1.8 million, has 19 inditements so far, 3 guilty pleas.
He's got 291 more curious "furriners" he's investigating, 197 "contractors", 4 big donors and 282 Republicans on his "naughty" list.
Just went up to 20, Florida man added who's "cooperating" with the Investigation.
I agree. Mueller has nothing and they know it. If there was a smoking gun, it would have been discovered in the forst 6 months. They have nothing. Mueller is pressed for time and the Republicans won't let this dog and pony show run forever. Now if a special counsel was setup to investigate the FBI and Hillary. That would be a sight to see.
Jason,
Some people close to Trump are going to go to jail. But not on the original mandate over collusion because I certainly have not seen any evidence of it. Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein was also very clear today in his statement .... no Americans are involved in these indictments, no Americans benefited, no Americans helped, and that these Russian actions could not have changed the outcome of the Presidential election.
What I think is going to change everything is that most Americans now see the Mueller as a witch-hunt .... and this is only going to grow with time.
For the Clintons and a Special Prosecutor .... the Uranium One deal .... the $500,000 speaking deal in Moscow .... the $150 million donation to the Clinton Foundation .... if President Trump did this I can only imagine what the response would be. Jay would not be the only one foaming at the mouth on this one, I would be joining him and demanding a Special Counsel and more. But would Attorney General Sessions appoint one .... he should .... but I do not see him doing it.
Dear Editor:
This may sound a bit strange, but my guess is that it is not up to you or any other outsider to set the time limits for such investigations
Anon,
Thank God I am not involved in setting time limits.
And yes .... the law is the law .... it takes time.
I am just looking at this from a political angle .... and this is going to be influenced by politics just as much as to what laws have been violated.
But I am willing to make the following bet.
Currently .... a growing number of Americans are seeing this investigation as a witch-hunt. If this grows .... trust me on this one .... this special investigation is going to die very quickly and swept under the rug. If this trend reverses and a growing number of Americans want it to continue .... this investigation will then continue into perpetuity.
Curiously, the same who want to impeach Trump before investigation begin ask for time. I wonder why.
I know of no one who wanted to impeach Trump before the Russian issue came up. In fact, that issue began from the day Trump took office. Asking for time? easy. No one outside the investigation team knows what is going on at this time, and thus far there have already been a number of indictments...What would you do, Jac? close down the investigation this week and dismiss all that has been done?
"In these Indictments",
Prosecutor speak for "more to come",
I want the investigation to continue, it's wonderful.
You may have a good point James.
The Mueller investigation and the reaction to the investigation has revealed more about how Washington really works than what we have been exposed to in my lifetime.
The media reaction. The political reaction. The over-the-top biases and agendas that have been exposed. The corruption. And the public is taking notice. The majority now see the Mueller investigation as a political witch-hunt, and trust in the news media is now at an all-time low.
Hmmmm. Maybe we should let the investigation continue.
Are we sure these people weren’t just trying to grab traffic to their posts. Picking up whatever meme was popular at the time. Trying to make some money off views. What they posted seems to be a hodgepodge of pro and anti for a bunch of different causes.
Hey they're forgetting about indict me, I am a trump supporter..
I can't believe I am going to get away with it...:-)
I will be watching for the Indictment of some in the Obama administration for interference in the Israeli elections!!
I love it how all the bad people that influenced and colluded in the US elections but but what they did in the Israeli elections is ok. SNOWFLAKES CRY ME A RIVER!
Indictments of Russians for putting up fake social media accounts? Posting fake news on facebook?
Seriously?
What a big, fat juicy nothing burger. If you're that stupid as to get your news from facebook or twitter and not know the difference between fake news or otherwise, you're beyond help.
/I demand Putin hand over these criminals immediately!
It is disturbing however, that a majority of American millennials are in fact this ignorant and naive.
This so-called "investigation" has beclowned itself. Unless of course we have show trials in absentia. Then it just gets better....

Editor: politics? No. What Mueller has done is to show that there was significant and--yes--illegal, well beyond Facebook remarks. Indictments tell us that it is NOT political, as Trump has said, but actual crimminal indictments. And no: no connection as yet with anyone outside Russia except for those already indicted and within Trump circle...And, as Jay notes, more clearly to come.
And Russ: calling those who disagree with you names tells us more about you than about them.

Don't count on it.
Nope, keep in mind that Meuller's going after Russian and willing accomplices,
Pretty sure your names way way down on the list.
He'll get to you eventually.
The FBI went after the Verona network for 30 years and eventually ripped it out root and branch.

Current polls are indicating an opposite result

It is the economy that will determine what the result will be in November this year, and on this issue the Democrats are currently weak.
Even Schumer is sounding contrite these days.

WASHINGTON — Democrats need a positive platform — not just anti-Trump sentiment — to win in this fall's midterm elections, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Monday.
"You cannot just run against Donald Trump," the New York Democrat said in a speech at the University of Louisville's McConnell Center. "It is the job of we Democrats to put together a strong, cohesive economic group of proposals aimed at the middle class and those struggling to get there."
It was Trump's ability to connect with those voters, particularly working- and middle-class whites in the industrial midwest, that delivered him the presidency in 2016.
But the president's poor approval ratings, Democrats' ability to flip a string of Republican-held seats in recent elections, and the party base's fury over Trump's actions have encouraged many top Democrats to focus more on Trump than on their own platform.
That's a "mistake," Schumer said.
Voters want to hear what Democrats will do to create the environment for their economic security and prosperity, he argued.
"There's a lot of discontent in America, people don't have faith in the future," Schumer said. "We have always been the party of economic advancement, and I think we've lost some sight of that."
Congressional Democrats have rolled out a "Better Deal" agenda, an eight-part plan intended to serve as their legislative platform should voters return them to power in the House, the Senate or both in November. Some of their proposals were included in a budget deal that will keep the government operating through March and sets the stage for hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending over two years.
The above statement was Feb 12. Schumer knew then what was in the alleged big Mueller reveal coming today. Knew it was a zero. Knew it was loser. Another Democrat humiliation.
Notice Chuck wasn't anywhere near a camera today. He's the least camera shy Senator in the swamp.
36 Special Elections,
So many that Walker's trying to cancel special elections in violation of the WI Constitution,
And Rethug's in 14 States are trying t go back to 1778, when States appointed Senators, they wern't elected.
LMFAO
And fred, I have studiously desisted and refrained from calling my fellow bloggers here names. For at least 3 days. Ok, I said they were stupid. Point taken, sir.
It is Lent, after all.

different anon here (not sure what the other anon was "on").. I agree with you..it's been 1 year 3 months and THIS is what they have? It's beyond embarassing.. and CNN JUMPS on it and acts as if this is proof.. for days they run it on their homepage as top headline, desparate for people to click on it.. desparate for it to mean SOMETHING.. it doesn't .. it only means the end of CNN as a legitimate news source. They went -all in- on the Trump/Russia idea, and they lost. Now, after 15 months of 24/7 calling Trump a traitor, they need to rudder it back slowly.. and they will.. otherwise the network is burried. So, expect some minor headline changes, instead of "He colluded", it will change to "he must have known" to "he likely knew" to "did he know?"... pathetic
absolutely pathetic
