U.S. Democratic Senators Warn President Trump That He Does Not Have The Legal Authority To Launch A Strike Against North Korea

Politico: Democratic senators say Trump lacks authority for military strike against North Korea

Numerous Democratic senators, led by Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), warned President Donald Trump in a letter Monday, that he lacks “congressional” authority to launch a preemptive military strike against North Korea.

“Like many, we are deeply concerned about the potential consequences of a preemptive military strike on North Korea and the risks of miscalculation and retaliation,” the senators said. "Moreover, without congressional authorization, a preventative or preemptive U.S. military strike would lack either a Constitutional basis or legal authority."

The 18 senators stressed the risk of retaliation if the White House continues to pursue a strike. “Ultimately, it is an enormous gamble to believe that a particular type of limited, preemptive strike will not be met with an escalatory response from Kim Jong Un and neither the United States nor our allies should take that step lightly.”

The Senators are right on the constitutionality basis and legal authority. So what? It's always possible to push NoKo for making a mistake as G.H.Bush did for Iraq and L.B.Johnson did for Vietnam...at least.
The funny part is Obama make war in Libya without neither provocation nor Congress agreement.

And Libya was not even a threat. Frankly these Congressional personnel need to be worrying about a North Korean strike on America, how we can defend against it, and if it does occur will be able to respond and how will we do so.

Exactly,do they think Kim wouldn't hear about a congressional debate?.
If Kim unfortunately forces the u.s to preemptive action then surprise will aka pearl harbour will be required.
I seriously think that within 3 months we will wake up to the news that Kim's been hit with a bloody nose attack, what us unknown is what comes next.
