Reuters: China says trade war with U.S. will only bring disaster to global economy
BEIJING (Reuters) - Any trade war with the United States will only bring disaster to the world economy, Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan said on Sunday, as Beijing stepped up its criticism on proposed metals tariffs by Washington amid fears it could shatter global growth
After pressure from allies, the United States has opened the way for more exemptions from tariffs of 25 percent on steel imports and 10 percent on aluminum that U.S. President Donald Trump set last week.
On Saturday, the European Union and Japan urged the United States to grant them exemptions from metal import tariffs, with Tokyo calling for “calm-headed behavior.”

WNU Editor: Not a positive speech from the Chinese Minister of Commerce on China-US Trade Relations. According to the minister .... the current U.S.-China trade imbalance is due to the U.S. not permitting exports of hi-tech products to China. He does not address China's history of not respecting patents, nor the national security concerns if this trade is permitted. Bottom line .... there is no willingness from China to compromise on the trade deficit issue, nor eliminate its own tariffs and protectionist measures.

I'd say the "world order" is starting to realize that Trump isn't bluffing...once the deals start being struck everyone is going to jump into line.
If China pays back the trillions of theft in IP and copyrights they've done over the last 3-5 decades, we can talk. On top China continues to extort business leaders for all kinds of things that the WTO certainly would punish. Time to stop all this nonsense of buckling down to China. They owe us. They stole from us. They keep on doing unfair and internationally troublesome business practices
