Japan Times: China should prepare for ‘direct military clash’ over Taiwan amid U.S. moves: Chinese paper
A popular Chinese state-run newspaper has said China must prepare for “a direct military clash” over self-ruled Taiwan after a high-level U.S. official visited the island, angering Beijing.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Alex Wong became the first senior State Department official to visit Taiwan after President Donald Trump signed the Taiwan Travel Act, which encourages U.S. officials to travel to the island to meet their counterparts and vice versa.

I don't see Trump backing down on this. Unless it's a ploy to get China to back down somewhere else. What do you think would be the us response to a Chinese invasion of Taiwan? Will China even invade? How long can global powers disagree before a nuke is launched? I like how trump works, and I like how he gets stuff done. However, military clashes between world powers should never be taken lightly. They drew a red line, Trump is crossing it. If their red line was drawn in the sand, then so are ours. How long till all these global flash points erupt?
Scott,
A Chinese invasion will result in sanctions and a total breakdown in trade. A massive arms race. Hostilities in Asia for years coupled with military attacks and incidents of opposing forces firing at each other. It would make the Cold War look tame in comparison.
China is sounding more and more like nazi germany..
What is "Chinese media?"
You mean great leader Xi?
