Kevin Drum, Mother Jones: Europe and China Have Surrendered to Trump
Why does President Trump feel “liberated” just because he’s done a few dumb things lately? Dan Drezner has the right idea: “Trump has such a short-term worldview that if something calamitous does not happen immediately after he does something, it bolsters his assumption that he’s bulletproof.” So if Trump levies tariffs on steel and aluminum and the world is still spinning on its axis a week later, he figures that all the Chicken Littles were wrong yet again.
Oddly enough, the rest of the world seems willing to confirm this worldview. Here’s Europe:

I think what Drum is saying that Trump is very much a man of the moment. He will agree with whoever he last spoke to regardless of what he agreed to previously. Same with tariffs, if he causes a big commotion over such a thing he thinks it's a victory even though the tariffs (so far) are backed down.

Agreed.
Media analysis focused on Trumps style, tactics and personality are worthless.
They hate him so they can’t honestly analyze him.
Considering Trump has yet to launch a trade war, kind of stupid to say what the out come was.
Agreeing with the last person to be in the room won’t get you to a billionaire status over decades. Letting lessor minds think he operates that way might be one tactic to picking their pockets.

Inheriting money also helps and billionaire status is debatable. Trump is a good salesman and terrible businessman, he screws up everything he touches. He has a string of disasters behind him. That's why he needs Russian money, nobody in the west will lend to him anymore. But he tells people what they want to hear and is great at selling himself.

He doesn't have the intelligence for any of that.

He's just a misunderstood genius.
“Trump doesn’t have he intelligence for any of that”.
LOL. The Democrats have been telling themselves that for the last 3 years. While getting their asses handed to them.
So keep shoveling that crap, Jason. It’s amusing.

Yes, his sparkling, impeccable intelligence is on display every day.
