Sputnik: Why Israel Refused to Expel Russian Envoys Over the Skripal Case

Israel abstained from accusing Moscow of the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in the UK, and did not deport Russian envoys despite considerable pressure from its Western allies, most notably the UK and US, Israeli political analyst Avigdor Eskin writes, emphasizing Russia's role in Middle Eastern affairs.

Israel is like Saudi Arabia. The U.S. is'fickle.'

President changes parties and policy changes overnight to one of hostility. So Saudi Arabia and Israel have been going to Russia.

Russia is positioned in the middle east the way the US was in 1973. Russia is tight with the enemies out there. Russia is tight with Iran and growing friendlier with Iran's enemies Saudi Arabia, Israel and Turkey. I think that makes them the broker in the region, like the US used to be. Don't piss off the broker.

The UK Gov is full of Palestinian apologists and open anti-Semites. Israel is not going to undercut their international relations for a nation is determined to see the Israeli nation compromised eternally, in exchange for a temporary peace accord, that isn't worth the paper it's written on.
