VOA: Defense Officials: Russia Poised to Challenge US for Military Dominance
PENTAGON — Russia’s campaign to modernize and strengthen its armed forces is increasingly putting U.S. and European forces at risk, with some defense officials raising concerns Moscow’s military soon could challenge the U.S. and its allies for dominance across the continent.
Most of the focus in recent weeks has been on Russia’s newfound confidence in its nuclear arsenal after President Vladimir Putin boasted about four new delivery systems designed to make U.S. defenses “useless.”
Of equal concern to U.S. and European officials, however, is Russia’s remade conventional military might, which has been displayed and tested in places like Ukraine and Syria.

WNU Editor: NATO (which includes the U.S.) spends 20 times more (if not more) on defense than Russia. The idea that Russian forces will be able to overwhelm NATO .... not going to happen unless nuclear weapons are used. And if nuclear weapons are used, that becomes a completely different conflict.

The pig is fishing for money, the US Military tends to use scaremongering to get money for new toys.Pisses me off actually.

They have thrown their weight around Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Baltics are scared of them.
They back North Korea and made a solution there nearly intractable.
They got rid of out supply routes north or Afghanistan leaving us the mercy of the backstabber Pakistanis.
We have lavender boy, 'Derr' Corporal, Theresa May, and a whole bunch of skirts backing us up in Europe.
They may not be actually winning, but they are making our victories trend toward Pyrrhic.
