Turkey Is Preparing To Open A New Military Front Against The Kurds In Iraq

Al-Monitor: Turkey poised to open a military front in Iraq

Turkish-Iraqi relations had become extremely tense until the decision by Massoud Barzani, former president of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), to hold an independence referendum for Iraqi Kurdistan. Barzani's ill-fated move made fast friends of Ankara and Baghdad. Now, it appears that Turkey and Iraq have found further common cause, this time for joint military action against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

WNU Editor: Turkey is saying that it will be ending its military operations in the Syrian region of Afrin this May .... the same time when Iraqis go to the polls to elect a new government. If there is going to be an offensive against the Iraqi Kurds, it will be at the end of May or the beginning of June.
