The Independent: US warship triggers fury in Beijing after sailing near to disputed South China Sea islands
American navy accused of 'serious political and military provocation'
China has condemned America for a "serious political and military provocation" after a US Navy destroyer sailed within 12 nautical miles of an artificial island built in disputed waters.
The operation in the South China Sea was the latest attempt to counter what Washington sees as Beijing’s efforts to limit freedom of navigation in the strategic waters.
It came amid heightened tensions between the two nations, after Donald Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on up to $60 billion (£42 billion) in Chinese goods, moving the world’s two largest economies closer to a trade war.

Admiral Bolton at the wheel, full speed ahead...
The US warship only got to leave the area without being sunk before it knew what happened because the Chinese Navy allowed this to happen. The US is probably about to leave the South China Sea entirely in the next year or so. This little show as well as allowing a US aircraft carrier to dock in Vietnam was likely allowed to allow POTUS to save face and to keep his ridiculous domestic critics at bay.
The Chinese have agreed to work with us on much needed changes in America and Chinese trade agreements. In exchange, China gets the South China Sea. They were going to get this any way. Now we actually get something and the Chinese avoid the costs!!
They've agreed to sanctions on North Korea. This was a BIG move. As part of this US troops will leave SK at a date agreed to by the Americans and the Chinese. I'm sure South Korean leaders were informed of this hence the sudden desire to negotiate in good faith. The Kims will be replaced by a more compliant puppet unless they play nice towards America. As for SK, they best behave well. Perhaps they will be allowed to live. Candidate Trump properly called them out as users and abusers of America. We owe them NOTHING.
As for Russia, getting them to agree to the sanctions was HUGE as well. In exchange, they get eastern Europe and the chump Ukraine to do with as they please. Those crazy countries contribute NOTHING yo ADDED to us and the cost is enormous. Fuermore they don't appreciate us and view us as total chumps. As an added bonus, they hold the EU in check who was founded to harm us, supplant us, and ground us into powder to achieve this if necessary. The EU is an enemy of America. With the assistance of Russia they can be held in check. We will also get help from them against Iran. Without their help Iran cannot be effectively confronted.
This is my "take." Hopefully this is how it works out. Much of our problems stem from America trying to "punch above it's weight" in world affairs.
Right, bposter.. and the Russian navy is mightiest of them all, go s*ck Pu***ns c*** already lol I hope you could read that still ;)
More nonsense. china and russian cheating on sanction so stop pretending they are our best new pals...again,Russia great and US bad...the pattern of your comments very clear by now
