The institute's report said the 'sheer dimensions of homicidal violence are breathtaking' with almost half of all victims aged between 15–29.

For anyone saying the US is too violent. This is what a murder 'epidemic' is like.True there is violence in the US and some cities are very violent overall but compared to Latin America the US is far less brutal. And despite the huge number of weapons available.

There is a theory that murder rate is more correlated with government corruption than with guns. After all Britain has sword control and now they are pushing stricter knife control. Soon Britian will no longer be called Great Britain, but the land of plastic sporks ... until they ban those as well/

Latin America is more corrupt than the U.S. although U.S. politicians have shown intentions of catching up.
