Time for Trump to stand up to our enemy and not have desert with him

"Who cares about election interference?" The allegation has not been proven. Besides if they really could change our election outcome with such a tiny investment, a stretch to say the least, then we really do need to surrender to them!! These are serious allegations and evidence needs to be supplied before one goes around making reckless accusations.

"Who cares about poisonings?" Obviously the powers that be in the US and the UK don't. They made reckless accusations without even bothering to do even a cursory investigation. Not only did they do this but the accusations make no sense as even the editor here has pointed out. Clearly these folks would rather use the poisonings for partisan political purposes.

"Time for Trump to stand up to our enemy and not have desert with him." Some have gone out of their way to make him an enemy including but not limited to wrecking a careful diplomatic process that might have lessened tensions surrounding and perhaps even allowing us a path whereby we could end cold War 2. In light of what has happened recently, I am actually pleasantly surprised that Putin would even want to meet with POTUS. Hopefully adults can make progress in fixing that which the children and the insane ones so recklessly started and inflamed.

A nice in your face move by Trump to Bob Mueller and his gang of partisan inquisitors.

B.Poster said...

Anonymous,

I agree. Not only this but this partisan inquisition has inflamed a new Cold War and wrecked a careful and meticulous diplomatic process that very like took years to put together. History will not look kindly upon such people as team Mueller. I think it highly likely that some day their mothers will regret giving birth to them.

The United State is supposed to stand for democracy. For the leaders of a country to claim to stand for democracy while engaging in de facto coup against a duly elected POTUS is a contradiction in terms. The US has sanctioned leaders and removed them based upon much less than what the deep state is doing now. Should they sanction themselves? If they were to be consistent, they would have to do so.

Swing wildly hope something sticks. When it doesn't, just make stuff up!!

For what its worth, I want our leaders to have good working relations with the leaders of powerful countries like Russia and China. We probably don't want to reduce our diplomatic staffing in Russia right now nor is it likely a good idea to reduce theirs here either. With all that is going on now, Iran, Syria, North Korea, the Baltics, and I could go on, we need to be in communication with them.

I would like to see something tangible here though. 1.)The US needs to start moving in the direction of honoring post Cold War 1 agreements not to expand NATO to Russia's borders. 2.)Getting involved in Ukraine was arguably the dumbest move ever made by a major power in the history of the world. Tangible steps need to be made toward cutting off these chumps.

Thank you for the links. I will explore them and if time permits I will post comments on them if there is anything to add.

With a media clearly out to destroy POTUS and his team that has huge credibility issues already I tend to treat anything they come upwp with extreme skepticism.

"Postman"
attacking this many reputable sources is plain foolish and reveals what you are up to...it is of course the media...always the media...no, not so...we are dealing with a big variety of sources, reputable ones, and citing Trump in his own words! All you will accept? Trump is good and wise to follow Putin lead and to ignore meticulous investigation by people honored (in this nation) of both parties...Trump if "destroyed" will have brought that about by himself...that is how it works in this country...and I have not mentioned the lawsuits moving ahead on sexual abuse charges...ah,that too a conspiracy by the media...

Fred,

Your article on the connections indicate that people may know each other. In and of itself, this is not collusion per say. At one time Forbes had Putin pegged as the most powerful person in the world. I think Forbes is materially correct. Personally I think it is a good thing if our leaders have constructive working relations with powerful people in large and important countries. This also has huge potential for diplomacy.

As for Mr. Prince's meeting, I think it would be normal procedure to try and set up communications between the countries. In order to get these things done, one would need to meet with important people in Russian leadership.

What I am seeing so far here is a waste of time frankly. Think carefully before carrying out a coup against a duly elected president.

About time they meet for a serious conversation, not that they can agree on much. In the past during the Cold War, these summits were looked upon with hope by the media and both US political parties. Now the media and Dems will be whispering "collusion", "not my President", yet it was Obama in 2012 begging the Kremlin to collude with him in the run up to 2012 election. With this kind of duplicity in the Democratic Party, its no wonder Putin meddles in our elections.

What some might see as collusion, I see as careful diplomacy. Given the fact that team Trump has often had to work around people who in some cases would seem to me to meet the clinical definition of insanity, its not hard to understand why such efforts would need to be taken.

To me a true mark of character is doing that which is right in the face of stiff and often unreasonable opposition. Few people have such character. I am very impressed with those who do.

"About time that they meet for a serious conversation." I agree. The previous diplomatic channels may have been utterly destroyed by petty losers. It's clearly in the interest of America that we establish some type of dialogue with them.

"not that they can agree on much." Actually I a more optimistic than that. There will clearly be a problem with certain unreasonable opposition in America who seem h!ll bent on a new Cold War at pretty much any cost. Also, on the Russian side they have to be running out of patience. I'm pleasantly surprised that Putin would even want to have a meeting of this type right now.

While these summits are nice, real progress will be expected in several key areas. 1.)When will the property stolen from the Russian diplomats be returned or when they will they be duly compensated for this theft after BHO threw a temper tantrum after his side lost the presidential election? 2.)When will steps start being taken to lift the sanctions on Russia? 3.)The expansion of NATO into eastern Europe is very likely a violation of the agreements that ended Cold War 1. When will steps start being taken to reverse this? 4.)Inserting ourselves into Ukraine was arguably the dumbest move ever made by a major world power. When will we start seeing steps taken to reverse this and cut the chumps loose?

Obviously the sides can work together to some degree. After all getting the Russians and the Chinese on board with sanctions against North Korea was/is a huge deal. Obviously they did not do this for free. It would be interesting to know what we gave up to achieve this level of cooperation.

Yeah better not to mend fences and have a cold war and increase the risk of a hot war over dubious claims of election meddling that did less damage than.Hilary calling 40% of the population deplorable.

B.Poster said...

Fred,

For the record I looked up internet troll. According to Wikipedia a troll is a person who sows discord on the internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people by posting inflammatory, extraneous or off topic messages in an online community such as a news group, forum, chat room or blog with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or otherwise disrupting normal on topic discussion often for the trolls amusement."

I haven't acted in a way to deliberately upset anyone. I typically stay on topic and I am very polite. Admittedly I have used a few curse words of late and will endeavor not to do so in the future. If anyone was offended, I apologize.

Since I obviously do not fit the definition of an internet troll, I think it more likely that having lost your arguments based upon their merits you must now resort to cute insults.

Fazman,

I think I understand what you are trying to say. Claims of Russian meddling are dubious at best, little proof has been supplied that rises to the level of "there," and this has made serious diplomatic efforts extremely difficult now. These efforts on the part of some have made what was already a very bad situation much worse. The parties doing this have yet to explain why this is worth it especially when Russian assistance is going to be needed in a number of areas, examples being extrication from Ukraine, containing Iran, and containing North Korea. I could cite other examples.

HRC calling a sizeable portion of the electorate deplorables is problematic on a number of levels. If this really is her position, it is going to be hard to expect her to represent the interests of people she despises. I would say every bit as problematic was when she likened Putin to "Hitler." Given what the Russian people went through with the genuine article, this was an extremely st8pid thing to say. One would think that someone in her position would have advisors who could point out "Hilary we are going to need Russian assistance in a number of areas and at the very least it makes no sense to antagonize them for new good reason!!" In my considered opinion, we could stop right there. That person is not fit for command of anything much less a major world power.

Perhaps off topic but the editor and others have pointed out that Iran is being a bit quite of late. I think this is Trump diplomacy at work. While I could be wrong I think it is a reasonable conclusion as it is the only new variable to this equation.

Fred,

"Now comrade you support Russia or US." I support the US of course. Since I do support the US, I don't think its wise to go out of one's way to provoke and inflame a new Cold War that risks turning hot for no good reason. At least no one has presented evidence that would justify this. Furthermore this would be a war we might not be wble to win. NI believe pursuit of such policies is reckless stupidity.

If the leaders are communicating not sure how this would make Trump "Putun's boy." If the leaders are meeting, this would generally be considered a good thing. Why does the President need to say anything? I'm sure he will make an announcement at the appropriate time. I think it unwise to schedule diplomacy at a way that pleases the media and is at the expense of actual real diplomacy.
