Revelation comes as US, Chinese warships conduct exercises in South China Sea

The US military is saying that China has installed equipment on islands in the South China Sea capable of jamming communications and radar systems, according to a report on Monday.

The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the development, also cited US intelligence sources as saying the equipment was deployed within the last several months.

The scales will be in western favor only so long. An inevitable war with China can be won now and in the near future. After that we will all speak some Chinese eventually. Guaranteed dominance for another 100 yrs or a quiet decline. I think the hawks will go for it.

That analysis depends on the reader having never looked at a chart of Chinese demographics. China is already destined to become the first nation to grow old BEFORE it grows rich. XI is holding on to power and riding a tiger by promising the Chinese they can still become rich before retirement.
Do you really want to place your bet on Xi being the first Communist to deliver an economic miracle?
All flashy GDP growth numbers aside, the previous PRC Leaders already blew it by putting Xi and China in this predicament.
