U.S. Justice Department Watchdog To Probe Comey Memos

James Comey with Rachel Maddow last night on MSNBC

Wall Street Journal: Justice Department Watchdog Probes Comey Memos Over Classified Information

Former FBI director has said he considered the memos, which he gave to a friend to release to media, personal documents.

WASHINGTON—At least two of the memos that former FBI Director James Comey gave to a friend outside of the government contained information that officials now consider classified, according to people familiar with the matter, prompting a review by the Justice Department’s internal watchdog.

Of those two memos, Mr. Comey himself redacted elements of one that he knew to be classified to protect secrets before he handed the documents over to his friend. He determined at the time that another memo contained no classified information, but after he left the Federal Bureau of Investigation, bureau officials upgraded it to “confidential,” the lowest level of classification.

The Justice Department inspector general is now conducting an investigation into classification issues related to the Comey memos, according to a person familiar with the matter. Mr. Comey has said he considered the memos personal rather than government documents.

WNU Editor: I predicted last week that the with time former FBI Director Comey will regret publishing this book. Case in point .... aside from this Justice Department probe, I am starting to see this shift right now on how the main stream media is reporting on him .... Trump calls treatment of Michael Flynn unfair compared to Comey (Politico). Another example .... Memos don't prove 'obstruction' — they further cement Comey's legacy as a leaker (James Gagliano, The Hill).

Update: The FBI is now starting to eat their own .... 'I could well be a witness' for the prosecution against McCabe, Comey tells CNN (CNN). And .... Ex-FBI deputy director McCabe ‘very upset and disappointed’ in Comey comments (PBS).

WNU Editor: And my friends accuse me of being the hopeful one in every situation .... McCabe to sue Trump admin for defamation, wrongful termination (The Hill).

The Justice department or whoever recommended that McCabe be charged and the local federal prosecution declined within 24 hours.

Declining to press charges seems to be political on the prosecutor's part.

Declining to prosecute is not the same has being acquitted at trial, so the charges can be pressed at a later date until the statute of limitations runs out.

The prosecutorial discretion seems to not out of judgment as to whether the prosecutor could win the case but partisanship.

McCabe got fired. Then came the request for a prosecution. That did not happen. McCabe at the middle of the week found out that he was still here after the other side fired their salvo. He expected to be dog meat, but he is still here. He did not expect that, but since he is still here, he decided to go on the offensive.

Usually a good offense is the best defense. We'll see. If the polls go further south, McCabe might wish he never threated a lawsuit or actually file one. The timid or partisan prosecutor might decide to actual prosecute McCAbe and then he will have double the fun.

It came out that the 'Clean as the Wind Driven Snow FBI' protected Whitey Bulger and sent 4 innocent men to prison for years. Mueller and others were tangentially involved in that. Mueller has some knowledge of it and did not blow the whistle on it.

The FBI will take a big black eye over Whitey Bulger and the 4 innocent men. They will have to 'sacrifice' someone. I posit that they will throw peple from the McCabe, Mueller, Comey clique to the dogs.

I was at a website and the regulars there swear up and down that 'The Hill' is right wing.

So if The Hill makes Comey look bad, then it will be 'proof' that he is being unfairly prosecuted and at least in the short run they will double down on support for Comey.

Comey will coin a new term.. the Comey Complex.. he's clearly not right in his head.. by the way.. about 2 weeks or so ago, there was a news story on CNN .. when they reported on what Hillary said when she was at a conference overseas.. in essence, Hillary said that (yet another reason she lost) was not because of her, but BECAUSE - and this is funny - republican wives vote like their husbands do, because they get bullied into voting whatever the husband wants. The most sexist thing I have ever heard, coming from a woman that ran on a "vote for her" platform. Unbelievable. Anyways.

2 weeks later, Comey goes on his book tour. And we find out that his entire family - 5 daughters or so and his wife - were rampant Hillary supporters and went to the women's march protesting his boss (Trump) after his inauguration. And Comey seems to have been brainwashed by them. A 6 foot 8 guy gets brainwashed by the ladies around him. So, Hillary.. was this the women who get always bullied by men to vote republican? HAHA this is the funniest thing ever. Can't wait until Hillary finally understands why she lost

Julia from 'The Life of Julia' has to support Uncle Sam, because that is her family.

No other family was mentioned in her life other than her Uncle, her sugar daddy.
