Axios: EU statement opposing U.S. embassy move is blocked
Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania, in coordination with Israel, today blocked a joint EU statement criticizing the relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, Israeli officials and European diplomats told me.
Behind the scenes: The initiative to publish the statement was led by France and several other EU member states. Israeli officials say the goal was to present to the U.S. a common position against the move by all 28 member states, and to embarrass and isolate the Trump administration ahead of Monday's ceremony.

WNU Editor: The media narrative on Hungary for the past few months is one of it becoming anti-Semitic under Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. But we now have a story where he (along with the Czech Republic and Romania) have just blocked the EU resolution condemning President Trump's decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem .... and all of this occurring at the same time the EU is working with Iran (a government that has called for the extermination of the Jewish state) to circumvent sanctions. Hmmmm .... it makes you wonder on who are the real anti-Semites.

Romania has around 200.000 citizens in Israel and the majoryty are in Jerusalem and is interes for moving the embassy there !
Poor Merkel and Macron.
Maybe what Macron needed was a nice Jewish girl instead of using his teacher twenty years his senior as a beard or for whatever reason.
I've long suspected France and Germany to be evil entities. Now this is being confirmed. Now it is coming with out in the open for all to see. With "allies" like those one certainly doesn't need enemies.
In ordinary circunstsnces, one would not have expected anyone to block this EU move. For this I credit Trump diplomacy. It's the only new variable.
Even Russia is coming around. Donald Trump is proving to be Vladimir Putin's worst nightmare. Putin's only hope seems to be the Mueller probe!!

I probably should have clarified my position. It is the leaders of these countries who are proving to be evil. The citizens may simply not be informed. Siding with Iran "death to America" does not make any sense based upon national interest for these folks. Therefore my conclusion is it is purely and simply evil intent on the part of these people (the leadership)
Let’s be clear about the relationship. Despite the war of words from Europe directed at Trump since 2016, and Trumps return volleys, Trump has but big money into NATO to better defend Europe. Much more than Obama did. He has personally assured PM May of a very good Post Brexit trade deal, he has put together Trade deals with American LNG to help Europe wean itself from Russian energy. The Middle East is far better off now due to the quick defeat of ISIS and European help in turning down the Syrian catastrophe. Remember ISIS was dismissed by Obama as the JV league, he didn’t take it seriously but Europe paid a heavy price for his negligence. Trump hasn’t foresaken Europe at all.
It’s not all gloom and doom. Still over the long haul I expect ties to fray with Germany. She is itching to take the E.U. closer to China for the financial gains and independence from American financial domination. It’s their choice.

The CDu would be smart to depose Merkel, elect a new candidate and then go back to the polls. They are afraid of losing ground so they keep the swayback, pot bellied nag.
Merkel knows that the CDU has risks in deposing her. Merkel knows that the CDU will fight will using campaign/polling data. So even thought the majority of CDU voters do not like her immigration stands, she can work the system and get elected despite going against the wished of the people.
Merkel is so stupid that at this point Putin are doing to Merkel what the British did with Hitler. They are not trying to get rid of Merkel. They are just giving her rope.
