Trump on Monday called Kerry's intervention 'possibly illegal' and blamed him for the current arrangement that gave Tehran sanctions relief but would allow it to build nuclear bombs as soon as 2027
Daily Mail: John Kerry's attempt to salvage the Iran nuclear deal is 'possibly illegal' says Trump after former diplomat secretly met with Tehran's foreign minister and leaders of France and Germany
* Trump said the U.S. doesn't need civilians – even former diplomats – trying to conduct potentially felonious 'shadow diplomacy' without any authority
* The 1799 Logan Act made it a crime to conduct foreign policy with no permission
* Kerry met with Iran Foreign Minister Javad Zarif two weeks ago at the UN
* He is working to salvage the nuclear deal with Iran that he helped Obama craft
* Kerry spokesman: '[E]very American would want every voice possible urging Iran to remain in compliance with the nuclear agreement that prevented a war'
* Trump calls the bargain 'insane' and 'the worst deal ever,' complaining that it will allow Tehran to build nuclear bombs in 2027
* Trump is threatening to reimpose sanction on Iran on the deal's May 12 deadline
* Kerry drew fire for a potential Logan Act violation when he passed a secret message to the Palestinian authority to stall for time while Trump is in power
* First Trump national security chief lied to the FBI during a grilling whose premise was that he violated the Logan Act by talking to Russians before inauguration
President Donald Trump blasted former Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday following news reports that the Obama administration official has secretly met with foreign governments in a bid to save the much-maligned Iran deal.
The multinational bargain, which Trump has called 'insane' and 'the worst deal ever' – and aims to renegotiate or scrap – called for a decade-long pledge from Iran to cease developing nuclear weapons, in exchange for relaxed intational sanctions.

WNU Editor: No one enforces the Logan Act .... so John Kerry has no need to be worried about that. But trying to intervene in foreign policy when you no longer represent the government in power .... that never ends up well.

"...that never ends up well." As I have stated, the deal will not be renegotiated nor will the US walk away from it UNLESS there is support among "allies" to do so along with a willingness by Russia and China to at least look the other way. At present, we have none of this in place, at least publically.
So why are the Iranians shouting loudly? Why is John Kerry doing this? This would seem to suggest that perhaps behind the scene POTUS has secured support among "allies" to consider changing the deal and the Russian and Chinese may be willing to consider looking the other way. Then along comes John Forbes Kerry to screw the whole thing up.
"No one enforces the Logan Act..." As I recall, some people were up in arms awhile back about the possibility that members of team Trump may have interfered in US foreign policy when they were not in office. Now these same people seem to be silent. Perhaps it is time we started enforcing the Logan Act. The thing about a law that is on the books is it can be enforced anytime the government chooses to do so.
Germany and possibly France have been in a political war with Trump since early 2016. Then it went very public after he secured the nomination. Germany officials in the Merkel regime were insulting Trump in public for many months. Now Kerry meeting with German officials? Really?
Germany is acting like a country that wants to work against Trump every day of his administration. That won't end well. Not long ago Americans across the political spectrum supported Germany 100%.
Now they've worked it down to about 50% with little to no support among Trump voters.
This won't end well for Germany.
I am for enforcing the Logan Act for all folks who violate it...
