VICE News: Exclusive: The Army won’t charge troops caught on video shooting at an Afghan truck
American troops who were caught on video shooting at a moving convoy in Afghanistan will not face criminal charges, the U.S. Army Criminal Command told VICE News Friday.
Christopher Grey, Chief of Public Affairs for the US Army Criminal Investigation Command, said the investigation, which was launched in January after a video of the incident surfaced on YouTube, found American troops had acted “in accordance with the rules of engagement.”
In the video, an American service member appears to fire his weapon at the driver of what looked like a civilian truck as a U.S. military convoy sped by. The projectile punched through the driver’s side window of the truck at head level. It was unclear from the video if the driver was struck by the projectile or whether he was armed.

This has happened before.
If the truck is that close it can take out 1 to 3 vehicles.
ISIS/AL Qaeda has used VBIEDs against convoys before.
The people at the head of the column wave oncoming traffic off expecting them to to pull over and stop. Typical thing is to wave off the vehicle shoot across the bow and then shoot the engine block.
Who knows what the driver was thinking.
If I were ISIS I would threaten or pay several drivers to ignore the rules. It the truckers get shot, it is a propaganda victory.
If the trucks are not shot after disobeying the rules, then you have convoys set up for a VBIED.
Either way a Leftist will be happy with the propaganda victory or the U.S. body count.
To be on a convoy you have to have strong nerves. Stronger nerves than someone who has a GF on public assistance but won't marry her. What is that called? Friends with Benefits.
Being in the US military in general requires stronger nerves than most have. It is the most important job in the world, the most difficult job in the world, and the most undrr appreciated job in the world.
