BEIJING (Reuters) - China must lead the way in reforming global governance, the foreign ministry on Saturday cited President Xi Jinping as saying, as Beijing looks to increase its world influence.

China has sought a greater say in global organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and United Nations, in line with its growing economic and diplomatic clout.

Since taking office in late 2012, Xi has taken a more muscular approach, setting up China's own global bodies like the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and launching his landmark Belt and Road project to build a new Silk Road.

WNU Editor: Almost all of the countries that share a border with China are now in dispute with Beijing over border issues. These same countries also know what China means when they talk about "reforming global governance". In short .... it's China's way or the highway. But China does have trillions to invest, and a growing internal economy. And not all countries in the world share a border with China .... so their concerns are different. My prediction .... China will play a bigger role on the global scene, but my advice is beware of what they are offering .... there are usually a lot of strings attached to it that you may not like in the future.

Please. ..China produces only twice as much as Germany and need 20x more people to do what they do. I'm not buying into it. China is borrowing money left and right to keep financing their pipe dream and keep us believing into their shiny cities that are built on borrowed money and often stolen money
Xi is fishing..it'll all end soon
