Politico: DOJ reviewing whether anti-Trump bias infected Russia probe launch
It's the first time DOJ has specified it is examining the origin of the much-scrutinized probe into Russia’s attempts to contact the Trump campaign.
The Justice Department's internal watchdog indicated Tuesday that he's examining whether a senior FBI agent’s political bias infected the bureau's decision to open an investigation into the Trump campaign's contacts with Russia.
"That’s a matter we’ve got under review and are looking at right now," Inspector General Michael Horowitz told lawmakers at a hearing on Capitol Hill.
The statement is the first time Horowitz has specified he is reviewing the origin of the much-scrutinized probe into Russia’s attempts to cooperate with the Trump campaign as part of its effort to meddle in the 2016 election.
And it comes on the heels of a weighty DOJ IG report that detailed the animosity expressed for then-candidate Donald Trump by Peter Strzok, one of the senior agents that helped launch the Russia probe.

WNU Editor: This could be immediately resolved if the FBI complies to Congressional demands to furnish their reports and memos on what was the evidence that motivated them to launch an investigation over allegations that Trump colluded with the Russians. But as of this writing, the FBI has not complied . Hmmmm .... you have to wonder why. As for the Mueller Investigation .... they can only assume the worse .... that the entire FBI Trump-Russian collusion investigation was tainted because of political bias, and this will be used against them to delegitimize their entire investigation. Bottom line .... do not be surprised if the Mueller Counsel rushes to produce a report before the Inspector General issues his.

I wonder if all this stalling was put to "good" use...good as in rewritten and originals molecularly disassembled. After the obamma administration's 8 years anything from some federal agencies is automatically suspect in my mind.

When Mueller was put forward I remember left and right saluting him as the right guy for this job - and he seems to be. Having said that, you cannot win a case in front of a judge where you have such clear bias by this Peter S.guy and others involved. I mean he was caught saying pretty incredible things. On top, the first batch was redacted-ie purposefully not showing what he said. Unless they have some concrete evidence (which they don't) it's over. Sure, Democrats like to tell everyone that there were 20 convictions. They don't seem to get it. When the state comes after you, you're guilty. They write the law. They make the law. They enforce the law. Conviction rates when the government (who arguably doesn't have the best and brightest working for them) is above 95%. I don't get why Democrats cannot accept that there's no there there on trump. They hope and wish and beg and tell each other. But it's been 2 years and only real crimes found is on their side. ManaFort. .he's exactly like everyone in Washington. Do you know how many Mexican agents work for cnn and get to pose as journalists? One actually has Mexican and us passport and constantly pushes Mexican immigration agendas. It's unbelievable. And they're so full of themselves they don't see it. They cannot see it.

Did you actually look into it a bit deeper or just has CNN on full volume. They even convicted a Danish lawyer. It's complete nonsense. The "there there" is all about Washington. Suddenly people get convicted and imprisoned in one case for white collar crimes. Washington is full of this. If you truly belive in the fairy tale on cnn then please keep on watching it. I did too for most of my adult life. I switched when I saw how they've changed after 9/11 from a somewhat fact based chanel to a constant news alert (terylene the orange alert on cnn they ran almost 24/7 because people after 9/11 couldn't turn it off? That's when they started cussing from a news organisation to a panic and outrage organisation. Look at the people they have on. Intellectual light weights at best, they're better actors than journalists

Clearly there is no case and that is why Rudy and Donny seldom if ever mention the Mueller investigation. Why bother noting when it is clearly a waste of time?

The general outlines of what happened is coming into focus.
Obama spied on Trump during the campaign.
The FBI tried to entrap the Trump campaign with the intent of destroying his candidacy.
Once Hillary lost, Obama's people concocted a fake story of Russian collusion, causing serious damage to US-Russian relations and succeeding in getting Jeff Sessions to appoint Rod Rosenstein to manage the investigation.
This is looking like a coup attempt by Obama and his people. Treason seems to be a reasonable charge that should be made starting with Obama and going deep into the DOJ and intelligence services.
The last guy I think is darn close to what happen; TREASON! Unfortunately, that will never be prosecuted. Will just lead to endless conspiracy theories and stories. We were just saved by the election process.

Here is the problem:
those supporting Trump/GOP blame FBI but those supporting FBI under Mueller know that GOP controlled House and Senate support Trump, ie, they would not allow Dems to issue report and Dems had to do it on their own when elected folks did their investigation.
Now if GOP controls house and senate, how can we hope to have objective report(s)?
