DW: Russian airstrikes in southwest Syria signal escalation of regime offensive

Russia has carried out its first airstrikes in southwest Syria in support of an Assad regime offensive. The battlefield space is one of the most geopolitically complex and explosive in the seven-year war.

Russian warplanes pounded opposition areas in southwest Syria early Sunday, monitors said, providing air support for the first time to an offensive by President Bashar Assad's regime to retake one of the rebel's last strongholds in the south of Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Russian warplanes carried out at least 25 sorties northeast of the city of Deraa.

What a dumb group , and will deserve what will happen to them . Anyone with the faintest idea about US and "allies" should know . The south Vietnamese , the Iraqi and Afghan translators . And look to what trump is doing to the so called "special relationship " with Europe . Many quite surprised by US under trump , while those who know , understand that it is the true Americans way , with america first and foremost ( no deal no treaty no honour will be respected if it compromised america first ) .

"Likewise we should be wining in Afghanistan, but ..."
I was always wandering why the afghan war is still going (even after bin laden killed), is because of this mentality of over confidence and not learning from history . you cant win in Afghanistan . The Afghan have been playing this game since before the US existed . It doesn't matter if it's bush ,obama or trump . But hay you can continue until your broken .
