Asia Times: Entrance exams in China focus on the thoughts of Xi

Parents and commentators point out that tests used to focus on 'non-political' topics.

Almost 10 million high school graduates in China sat the nation’s annual college entrance exams earlier this week. The themes and reference materials are always a topic of conversation among parents and the online community.

But numerous students probably wondered if this was purely a political test on the ‘thoughts’ of Communist Party Chairman Xi Jinping.

Several municipal and provincial education departments all jumped on the bandwagon to quote President Xi’s political doctrine through his speeches and articles, asking candidates to write essays on the subject.

I'm astounded at this since the Chinese learned the hard bloody way that cults of personality lead to a big body count of innocent Chinese.
It also leads to picking the most loyal instead of the best and brightest and they will need them in the global competition to come.

I'm not worried about Xi becoming a dictator.I'm worried that he will almost surely start expanding chinese interests.And in those places that don't submit willingly i think he'll decide to use force.
