Gizmodo: Bizarre 'Sonic Attack' Symptoms Reportedly Spreading to US Diplomats Around the World

For more than 18 months, US diplomats have come down with similar illnesses that include mild brain damage and hearing loss after they claim to have heard unusual sounds. The incidents began in Cuba but reports have now spread to other countries. As authorities have ramped up efforts to treat any potential cases, almost 200 people have reportedly come forward to be tested.

The State Department has had little to say about the incidents that began in Havana in the fall of 2016, and the resulting information vacuum that has left the door wide open for conspiracy theories and other unverified claims. For now, no one can say for certain what is happening in these cases, but it appears US diplomats are being targeted in some sort of attack that’s left experts baffled. In the beginning, officials believed that some unknown “sonic device” was being used against the victims, but other theories have emerged in the meantime.

Update: Bizarre diplomatic 'sonic attacks' reaching epidemic proportions (WND)

WNU Editor: You would think that with 200 stepping forward in the past two years to be tested that there would be more news coverage of this story. But actually the opposite .... not much coverage, and the US State Department is staying quiet.

If you attack that many diplomats and manage to get away with it. ..
1) I'm impressed
2) you will be caught and you will be made an example off..even if it was Xi himself, he'll be slapped so hard his fatty double chin will still be wobbling the next day

Would not be surprises if its China. With all the laser incidents that damages pilots eyes and stuff.

Wouldn't be amazing if they discover, it is because they put a new system in . (that is amazingly stupid )

I would not be surprised this is some scheme by diplomats to blame their current ailments on their work so they can get out of the department and get full benefits. Something smells rotten here but I admit I am just speculating, is here any real evidence?

HF, the number of people complaining of these situations seems too large to be early retirement seekers. I ain't buying it.
If what I read is true, exposing one's self to brain damage and the other ailments that are discovered during follow up medical exams seems an overly extreme attempt to get out of work.
This extreme speculation posted by some is akin to some of the LAPD conspiracy speculations that were used by the defense in the OJ Simpson trial way back when. Beyond comprehension.

The laser stuff was in the south China Sea and likely by rogue soldiers on some base. It's minor stuff really and happens all the time in the south China Sea (with China typically being the aggressor, they really hate to see any foreigners there and I can understand it because they've been told it's their historic claim)..this situation is different. .it's in foreign soil and puts diplomats's health at risk.

Characteristics I suspect:

1) (designed to be) non-lethal
2) a system that can target to some degree
3) it will likely require quite a bit of energy if it's sound based and cause that much damage remotely (not saying it's huge but I don't think it fits into a suitcase either unless they get very close but that would increase likelihood of detection a lot and by now - after so many incidents and increased scrutiny they'd have caught up)
4) likely mobile. .the incidents are around the World

I suspect a device on board a plane or helicopter. Even a car parked across streets would have been found by now.
