Pentagon Facing A Massive Turnover Of Key Military Personnel That Will Impact The U.S. Military For Decades

The Hill: Trump preparing to nominate key military personnel: report

President Trump is expected to switch out commanders across the Middle East and Europe in the administration’s most dramatic change to the US military leadership so far, according to a new report from The Wall Street Journal.

The Journal reported that the personnel shifts will affect officers fighting in the Middle East, as well as those working to counter Russia, overseeing Guantanamo Bay and engaging in stealth operations around the world.

Officials told the Journal that Army Lt. Gen. Richard Clarke is anticipated to be formally appointed to U.S. Special Operations Command, in Tampa, Fla. He would succeed Army Gen. Tony Thomas, who will retire next year. The Special Operations Command oversees the specialized forces of all military branches.

WNU Editor: By 2020 ... with the exception of Defense Secretary James Mattis who I expect will stay on .... there is going to be a lot of new faces at the Pentagon.

This has been badly needed since Trump took office.

Obama purged all of the competent WoT Officers and top NCOs he could and replaced them with politically reliable flunkies and SJW stooges.

Long past time to clean out the Soviet Red Army loving checkists.

Recalling unwritten criteria for advancement when I experienced the military, let's hope Trump shakes up the status quo of the prior occupant of the white house. War fighters and innovators again, please, not eunuchs.

Agreed, the top leadership in all parts of the federal government needs a shakeup including the military. Could fighting men like Eisehower and McArthur even become generals in today's American armed forces? Somehow I don't think the could.
