Sputnik: Russia, China Gear Up For Massive Joint War Games (VIDEO)
The Russian military and elite units of China’s People’s Liberation Army are slated to conduct war games soon in what some are calling “proof of the sustained bromance between the two forces.”
From the final days of August through mid-September, approximately 3,200 soldiers within the Chinese army will train with Russian and Mongolian personnel, Asia Times reported Wednesday. According to the report, the deployment of Chinese soldiers symbolizes concrete evidence of de facto defense cooperation between Moscow and Beijing.

This will be as educational for the Russians as the US. Might this cause some new thinking in the Kremlin if they see some impressively advanced Chinese skills and equipment?
The Shape of Sino-American Conflict
I wonder if this will allow us an opportunity to study them up close. After all these are arguably the world's most powerful armed forces. Surely we can learn something useful in terms of their tactics and strategies from a careful observation of this. We may have to fight them someday. If so, it would be helpful to learn all we can about them.
While I can't be 100% certain, I am pretty sure Sun Tzu would say it is unwise to make provocative moves towards a potential enemy that you poorly understand combined with the fact that these provocative moves actually have little potential to advance your interests and may actually undermine them. In other words, high risk low reward actions generally would not be pursued by sane personnel.
Again, perhaps this gives us an opportunity to study them. Find out some things. It is possible that we may need to fight them someday and we need to be ready. Very good reasons would need to be given. To preserve the political interests of one candidate or group of people simply isn't a good enough reasons. The American people are not pawns to be used and abused in this manner.
