Let's give Russia a way out that allows them to save face. I mean sure, they're working for their interests (just as the US is) and people get killed (sometimes in a bit more inhumane side on Russia's side, and certainly more targeted civilian killing on Russia's side, including with nerve agents, but it's not like the US has 100% clear hands, neither now nor historically, so let's be honest about it). On top, we can also assume that much is done to look tough on Russia in this McCarthy 4.0 era. So what are we really winning here? I know we keep pointing our fingers at Russia, but Nato has expanded quite a bit to the east, so if we're honest about that maybe we can see their point more clearly. I'm all for sanctioning a country that is our enemy, but only if the reasons are justified and not inflated by current opinions and political climate. Real Russians might suffer.
