WNU Editor: As long as the U.S. economy is booming, President Trump can use sanctions as a tool to get concessions from other countries.

I like these rather than our people in uniform. He’s the first President since Reagan to use all levers at once against an adversary. Diplomatic, Economic and Military. The man knows what he’s doing.

Anon #2, I tend to agree. His approach is better than the military approach alone. He's smart enough to know this has utterly failed and will continue to fail.

What if Russia and China are the world's dominant powers and will be for centuries? To many bad decisions on our, part means we may not be able to change that. In which case assisting Russia's nascent democracy may well be our best option.

He's made use of the most powerful weapon we have - the US economy. You'd have thought all our leverage was permanently squandered by the feckless, venal so-called president we had prior. But all it took was 18 months to unf**k the mess he put us in. I honestly thought it take much longer.

Now all the despicable Democrats want to do now is destroy. Destroy the President, destroy the economy and destroy the country. Turn it into a large scale version of Venezuela. And then blame Trump. But its all good as long as they're in power.

Nothing in the world matters to Democrats but absolute power.

Anon,

The actual size of a country's economy actually matters very little. I've explained this elsewhere on this site. What does matter is the US dollar's role as world reserve currency.

Any time sanctions are deployed the role of the US dollar as world reserve currency is undermined. I've stated the case that this loss is inevitable and the goal should be a soft landing when it does happen. I still think that case could be made. Had I been POTUS that's probably the path I would have taken. Essentially don't unleash sanctions against powerful countries or those who are allied with powerful countries.

The duly elected POTUS has chosen a different path. He wants to make America great. As such, he,is deploying the only weapon in the arsenal that might actually work.

In the face of unrelenting and unreasonable opposition, he has accomplished much. I'm actually starting to think he might actually succeed. We,long to be a great nation. As such, when given a choice of hope or being crushed under the government or by an angry foreign power the democrats started a fight with for no good reason, Americans will choose hope for their future and the future of their families.

POTUS and his, team are going to pull this off and this has some folks on edge. I tell them don't worry. "Trumpians" will be allot more merciful to you than you ever were or ever would have been

Russ,

Spot on!! This is their real fear, the loss of the absolute power they've enjoyed for decades.

When choosing between a leader who bas accomplished much in the face of unreasonable opposituon advancing America's cause exponentially or people who have brought nothing but destruction and offer nothing but more of the same experential common sense, go with the less than perfect leader who has a positive track record and offers hope for the future.
