Past US Presidents never connected trading relations with NATO relations. Trump has explicitly made that connection that the EU nations can't be predators on trade and expect the US to defend them.
So to the extent the EU nations take effective actions to defeat US sanctions, I expect the Trump administration will take steps in the trade and defense relations to retaliate against Britain, France and Germany. With Brexit on a knifes edge and Britain needing to strike free trade agreements around the world, this shows how opposed the May govt is to the Trump administration. No surprise considering British intelligence was up to their eye balls in colluding with the CIA to stop Trump from the Presidency.
Anon, this was for me an instructional and useful post and in an era of obama-speak it's clarity is very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Anon #1,
Nice analysis and summery.
May is doing everything she can to sandbag Brexit. She is the polar opposite of Churchhill's effort to save the UK from tyranny.
