New York Times: I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration
I work for the president but like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.
The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers. We invite you to submit a question about the essay or our vetting process here.
President Trump is facing a test to his presidency unlike any faced by a modern American leader.
It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall.
The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.

Trump isn't an idiot. At least, he's a different kind of idiot. Idiots have been presidents before. George W Bush being a prime example. You just have to look at Trump's language on twitter and elsewhere (including his book) to see that.
But he's still is a better choice than Hillary Clinton.

The paper knows the name of the writer
The writer claims he or she is part of a group what then does the writer hope to achieve by going public?
The more the swamp is drained the more it will fight back...expect a book or bombshell every month for the rest of this presidency, and take note of how the average American just ignores them.

If this writer is indeed a "Resistance" mole in the White House, its a lose-lose scenario. Leftwing blogs are already calling "him" an enabler, NOT a whistle-blower. So no love from the anti-Trump progressives. And he'll face possible charges of sedition when his identity is revealed. That's why it would amaze me if this is actually a Trump insider.

A kmow that a lot of people are speculating it is Mike Pence. But would he go to the NYT .... no. He would post it in the Wall Street Journal.
David Frum, editor of The Atlantic, thinks the source should have gone public and resigned. That said, if, as some now say, the Pence speech writer likes the world "lodestar" and used in this anon article, then Pence could not resign but in the article asks for impeachement and that would put him in the office
It makes sense to use the NY Times since
1. much bigger circulation
2. no paywall
I don't think the sabatuer/traitor is Pence, Pompeo, or Coates. They have denied it.
I had thought we couldn't prosecute someone for treason/sedition unless we had a declared war. It would be optimal if we could prosecute them. These people by their actions are endangering the security and economic prospects of my loved ones as well as the country as a whole!! They need to be stopped!!
When we have limited information, the decisions can affect us greatly, the options presented are different, we have no control over the outcome, and we must decide which policies/leaders to support, it can be a judgement call as to whom we support. Sometimes our judgement can be wrong.
The anonymous source calls himself a member of the "steady state" which appears to be an attempt to rebrand the "deep state." This group has,caused the problems that Trump and his loyal tram members are working very hard to fix. As such, there trustworthiness is questionable at best.
This is compounded by the fact that this person chose to hide behind "anonynous " Had they been open and honest we could have had a fair debate about the issues at hand. Neither they nor the BY Tunes seem to want such a debate. I liken them to people who have been defeated based on the merits of their position and realize this. Now they must resort to go on, crook, or other disreputable acts to try and win. Apparently it matters not ti,then if they endanger all of us in the process.
Given the poor results of "steady state" and his fellow travelers combined with their lack of decency and morality that is normally proficient in most bumans, when their judgments conflict with those of Trump, I will go with Trump's judgment 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. Of course this all could be a psyops campaign against POTUS, his team, and those working hard to implement his policies. There seems no level these people will not stoop to. This is my "takw" and my time to comment is very limited right now.
