AFP: Trump spooked Pentagon with almost-sent tweet on N.Korea: Woodward

Washington (AFP) - US President Donald Trump spooked the Pentagon leadership with a tweet that -- had it been sent -- North Korea would have read as a sign of an imminent US attack, journalist Bob Woodward said in an interview that aired Sunday.

Woodward, whose new book "Fear: Trump in the White House" hits book stores on Tuesday, described the incident in the interview with CBS as the most dangerous moment of Trump's nuclear standoff with North Korea.

"He drafts a tweet saying 'We are going to pull our dependents from South Korea -- family members of the 28,000 people there,'" Woodward said on "CBS Sunday Morning," referring to families of US troops stationed on the Korean peninsula.

The tweet never was sent because of a back-channel message from the North Koreans that they would view it as a sign the US was preparing to attack, according to CBS.

WNU Editor: President Trump is known to post tweets at all times during the day, with no one supervising and/or telling him what to post. Bob Woodward is saying the opposite .... that he drafted a tweet, sent it to the Pentagon/intel community/etc., who in turn sent it to North Korea via through a back-channel .... who then replied that this was a signal for war. Hmmmm .... to say that I am skeptical of this Bob Woodward claim is an understatement. Of course .... his sources are all anonymous.

Woodward is trading on anonymous sources betting his elite reputation will persuade people to believe him. Times Up for believing in “elite journalists”. I think he’s seeing it now.

But he still gets to make money, he won't have to reveal sources, he won't have to redact and his name recognition and pay check from the networks who have him on as a Talking head grows. Cnn. Go figure

Lucky, then, for us that Trump has a sterling reputation and seldom if ever tells lies and so people around him in the White House place full trust in him and never ever tell anything to anyone...one question: name a time when a
Woodward book was ever shown to be a fabric of lies or made up stuff

You don't seem to understand how the world works. Someone who claims something (Woodward) has to prove his claims. It is not my job. My job,as a good citizen, is to be skeptical. Your job, little parrot, is to repeat everything you hear. Go to cnn already and learn your narratives for today, little parrot. Don't think about how the world works. That's way beyond a parrot, a small one at that
