Dutch Police Foil 'Major Terror Attack'

 * Dutch police have arrested seven men on suspicion of plotting a terror attack
 * Ringleader has been named as Iraqi Hardi N, 34, who was convicted in 2016 of plotting to join Al Qaeda in Syria along with two others
 * In 2017 he had his sentence upgraded to two years on appeal, but was allowed to serve 21 of those on probation after court heard he renounced extremism
 * As a condition of release, he had to speak weekly to a theologian about his views
 * Two other alleged members of the terror cell also had previous convictions for terror offences, including a 21-year-old who also tried to travel to Syria

The alleged ringleader of a Dutch terror cell accused of plotting a major attack was out on probation when he was arrested yesterday, it has been revealed.

Hardi N., 34, who was born in Iraq but lived in Arnhem, was initially jailed for 16 months in 2016 for trying to join Al Qaeda in Syria, but was released after less than a year after claiming to have renounced his extremist views.

As part of his probation, he agreed to seek religious counselling once a week.

While the police were watching those three, they could not surveil or round up others.

Germany says it does not have enough police to surveil all the wackadoodle terrorists and wannabe's. Is Holland any different? Doubtful.
