Donald Trump has slammed Bob Woodward's book as a 'fraud' and labelled him a 'Dem operative' after the famed Watergate journalist quoted John Kelly calling the president 'an idiot' and James Mattis comparing him to a 'fifth grader'.
Trump tweeted on Tuesday night: 'The Woodward book has already been refuted and discredited by General (Secretary of Defense) James Mattis and General (Chief of Staff) John Kelly. Their quotes were made up frauds, a con on the public. Likewise other stories and quotes. Woodward is a Dem operative? Notice timing?'
Mattis and Kelly both dismissed claims they had questioned Trump's intellect in a series of statements fired off from the president's Twitter account on Tuesday evening.

And as for some of the sources that Bob Woodward uses .... like former economic advisor Gary Cohn .... considering Cohn's hatred for President Trump, I would be very skeptical on what he says. But this is Bob Woodward's style, and I suspect that the criticisms that were leveled at him on how he wrote his 2010 book "Obama's Wars" .... The Washington Post published audio of an 11-minute call between Mr. Woodward and Mr. Trump in which Mr. Woodward warned the president that his book would be severe, and expressed regret that he never had a chance to incorporate Mr. Trump’s view of his own job. Mr. Trump sounded incredulous that he never got to sit for an interview and defend himself to the author. Mr. Woodward told him that he made the request to at least a half-dozen people close to the president, and that it was never granted.
