CNN: Federal prosecutors weigh charges against Democratic powerbroker in Manafort-linked probe
(CNN)Federal prosecutors in New York are weighing criminal charges against former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig as part of an investigation into whether he failed to register as a foreign agent in a probe that is linked to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to sources familiar with the matter.
In addition, these sources said, prosecutors in the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York are considering taking action against powerhouse law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where Craig was a partner during the activity under examination. Prosecutors are considering a civil settlement with the firm or a deferred prosecution agreement with Skadden, these sources said.

WNU Editor: It looks like there is going to be fall-out from yesterday's Manafort guilty plea .... Paul Manafort's Plea Deal Could Be Bad News For A Bunch Of Washington Operatives (Huffington Post). As to what is my take. If they go after everyone in Washington who should have registered as a foreign agent but didn’t, the courts will be tied up for years and the jails will be full. But the problem is that if they do not go after these people, then why single out Manafort? As I had mentioned in a post a few hours ago .... I will be shocked if Meuller goes there.
The most notorious violator of the foreign agents registration law has always been AIPAC, but nobody who values their Washington career will ever go there. Mueller's targeting of Manafort on that basis shows how selective and targeted his investigation is.

When it is connected in any way to
Trump it is all fake; when to Obama and the Dems, it is right and justified. Moi? Anyone breaking the law in any manner needs to be investigated and brought to justice, no matter what party etc
Mueller could be somewhat fair if went after all non-AIPAC lobbyists not properly registered and who advocated for Russia or Ukraine.
I do not personally like Manafort, but I do believe that justice was not blind and that they solely targeted him years & years after the fact.
I also believe that what people like Manafort do is how the sausage gets made.
After all Biden and Obama met with one of his people.
Ahead of a Roman legion you might find traders.
Ahead of an American diplomat you might find a person like Manafort.
So he is perhaps necessary and therefore it is 2-faced to use him and then discard him.
I guess that Carl doesn't like that they lobby for a state that practices apartheid, among other things.
