Well it's more than that, WNU, the Kremlin has ordered the killings of many, many journalists, as you well know. So this is just having a friendly chat about the weather, they probably didn't even discuss the death of the journalist, other than exchanging tips and tricks on how to improve on the killing.. you know, what music to listen to, which body doubles to use, which forests are nice for a hike after dumping the body etc.
