New York Times: U.S. to Tell Russia It Is Leaving Landmark I.N.F. Treaty

The Trump administration is planning to tell Russian leaders next week that it is preparing to exit the landmark Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, according to American officials and foreign diplomats.

President Trump has been moving toward leaving the three-decade-old treaty because Russia has been violating it for years and because it is constraining the United States from deploying new weapons to counter the growing arsenal of intermediate-range weapons that China has deployed in seeking greater influence in the Western Pacific.

The White House said that no official decision had been made to leave the treaty, known as I.N.F., which was signed in 1987 by Ronald Reagan and was considered a critical step in defusing Cold War tensions. In the coming weeks, Mr. Trump is expected to sign off on the decision, which would mark the first time he has scrapped a major arms control treaty.

The migrant caravan forced Trump to admit he'd sacrifice economic prosperity to politically exploit racism
To keep out a handful of Central American asylum seekers, the president has said he'd wreak havoc on the U.S. economy.

As soon as that happens we will officially be in Cold War 2.0. Starting to get scary on this little world of ours.

We live in very dumb times. Lead by very awful people. Who very dumb people elected.

The Russian cruise missile 9M729 makes a joke of this treaty. Why keep said treaty if one party ignores the rules?

I’m guessing this was Putin’s plan all aling, get Trump elected so that he could have a nuclear war with him...makes sense to me.

4,000 is not a handful.

If those 4,000 are allowed in after breaking the law, next year the number will be 100,000 a year for the next 10 years.

Pepe can go to Hell.

I much rather do maintenance on 1,000.

But the Russians are extremely piss poor partners.

- The break sanction by assisting North Korea.

- The are temporary allies with Iran

- Iran, Russia and China form an Axis.

- Russia is behind the unrest in Eastern Ukraine. There would still be considerable unrest in Eastern Ukraine without Russian, but the war would not have gone on as long as it has except for Russia.

- Russia has done its best to isolate the American Forces in Afghanistan politically and logistically.

Who cares!? You want peace, keep developing weapons that will check your opponents and quit crying about it.

Well, obviously that's the only language we can have with Russia today.

This is not a mistake. Because of China's development of intermediate range missiles, both the U.S. and Russia need to build their own.

Well, ya could build the missiles and not break the treaty. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

The Russians and Chinese have always broke treaties.

I might add one thing:

Which country benefits most of animosity and potentially a war between Russia and the West?

Hint.. it starts with C

Another question:

Which country benefits if North Korea nukes the east coast and which country has given North Korea mobile missile launchers that would enable them to do that? And which country has (more than Russia) help North Korea to get around sanctions?

Hint... it starts with C

And which country has killed more CIA operatives than Russia in the last decade?

Hint... it starts with C

Last question: Which country is becoming a complete totalitarian state, with mass surveillance and mass concentration camps?

Hint.. it starts with C

Do not forget which country we are at war with. It is not Russia. I believe we are all being played. China has stolen trillions from us, while killing our people, while putting more than a million people in concentration camps. We are at war. We just have to start fighting back.

The reason why I like Trump is because he recognizes and elevates the threat of China. Yet CNN almost not reports on any of this. To them it's Russia, Russia, Russia. This is not normal reporting anymore. Also... just consider this.. why is CNN Turk (the turkish network of CNN) so close in bed with Erdogan? And why do we suddenly believe - well CNN believes - everything Turkish officials say? The very same turkish officials who, after the Erdogan assassination attempt, killed and imprisoned HUNDREDS of journalists? Don't you remember? It was just a year ago.

Wtf is going on at CNN?
