U.S. Secretary of State Meets Saudi King For Crisis Talks On Jamal Khashoggi

ABC News Online: Mike Pompeo meets with Saudi King Salman over journalist Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance

America's top diplomat has met with Saudi Arabia's King Salman and his son crown prince Mohammed bin Salman over the disappearance and alleged killing of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi at the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo smiled and shook hands with both men, who warmly greeted him just hours after a Turkish forensics team finished a search inside the Saudi consulate, looking for evidence of the Washington Post columnist's alleged killing and dismemberment.

WNU Editor: To me this is just PR. The Saudis "blew-it", and they are expecting the U.S. to give them cover for this screw-up. More specifically .... WNU,

I've had a sneaking suspicion the government wasn't behind this but that it was the crown prince.
He started out with a refreshing bang, then the grumbling began from the dinosaurs, now this not so clever assassination. If he is behind this I can't figure out why unless an October 14th article in Die Welt, portraying a different Khashoggi than we know from the press, is accurate.

MBS is exercising too heavy a hand.

All of it reaks of an inexperienced youth who is creating a track record of failure.
